English is not my native language, I’m sorry for any misspellings.

Why did the Pope was against using condoms? Friend of mine went to Africa and he was shocked from the priests who were telling people to not use condoms and if they did they are going to hell!!!

We all know that condoms protect us from many many danger dissases, why would the Pope who supposed to be wise and thinking guy say such thing?

Do you or your friend think its ok to have sex with anyone, anytime?

I would start by questioning the false assumptions behind what “we all know.”

The only thing that will – with 100% certainty – keep a person free from sexually transmitted diseases is for them to abstain from sex before marriage and remain faithful to their spouse after marriage. And that’s exactly what the Catholic Church teaches.

Condoms offer a false sense of security. They encourage people to engage in risky behavior because they assume they are “protected” – even though they are not. Why should anyone be in favor of that?

Since I was not present during the sermon or the conversation in Africa, I can not be certain of what was said. But, I do believe that any sermon or conversation regarding condoms would also include the Church’s view on pre-marital sex. Abstinence would have also been included in this discussion. Also, the priest might have said that the use of condoms is prohibited in the Catholic Church as is pre-marital sexual activity. Abstinence from sexual activity and a celibate lifestyle would be the way a Catholic would live until they were married in the Church. The spread of disease can also be accomplish by abstinence and a celibate lifestyle in the absence of marriage.

Condoms are not part of the solution, but part of the problem 🤷

Well, I have to admit it, you got me 😃

I agree that the one and only perfect way to be free from sexually transmitted diseases is to be faithful to one person who you love and married to.

Maybe because my friend is an atheist so he didn’t think about that the teachings of church are disagree with the idea of having sex with people our of marriage.

Thanks to all of you guys 🙂

Well:

1- the condom and other artificial contraccception prevents the act of sexuality to beh aimed at it’s final purpose: reproduction

2- NOT that sex ought to be for reproduction only and not for pleasure. Sex can be for pleasure to, but without impairing the natural final end.

3- It is NOT necessary that every sexual act leads to a certain or possible pregnancy. There are very EFFECTIVE natural methods.

For example the Cirghton Model (creightonmodel.com/) which appears to be 96.8% effective.

These Natural Methods do not go against the common nature of the sexual act but take advantage of the femake reproductive cycle itself. So it is within the human nature itself we find the solution, not outside of it. So the final end of the sexual act is not excluded, simply the (female) body will not acheive it since it is in the infertile period.

Also there are other advantages.

Regarding AIDS/HIV:

People say the Church condemns people to get infected but study prove the contrary.

The catholic african countries, like Uganda, where the Chruch is most active, are the countries with leas HIV patients in Africa! (except muslim countries, but because in muslim countries there are strict rules where people can have only one sexual partner (or in some places a few wives) and not ‘screw around’ and fornication and adultery are severily punished!)

The great successes like in Uganda, where AIDS has dropped inmmensely compared to the other countries is the ABC method (Abstinence, Faithfulness, Condom).

Here the Church promotes especially the first 2: Abstinece for non married people and being Faithful for married people. Also it fight superstitions like ‘having sex with a virgin will cure you’ perpetrated by some shamans.

By doing this the Church effectively EDUCATES people to be responsible and prevent spreading of HIV.

In other countries where condoms are distributed by the truckload HIV has not dropped a bit!
First many people refuse to use them anyway. Second condoms can and do fail, especially in places where the temperature can be up to 50 *C (122 *F) in the shade and there is no Airco. Third condoms are ‘reliable’ when used correctly and ONCE… this does not always happen even in Europe or US!

(more is explained here: catholic.com/magazine/articles/uganda-the-real-abc%E2%80%99s-of-an-epidemic)

Promoting condoms promotes promiscuous behavior, which is the CAUSE of the spreading of AIDS in the first place.

As I said: take Muslim countries: they have a less HIV infection rate than western countries even (or very comparable) because there promiscuous behavior is severely prohibited and punished.

(See: images.quickblogcast.com/1/2/3/8/6/277163-268321/AIDSmap.png)

Western countries get by, but recently AIDS is on the rise again.
