I got a weird sign, one I didn’t ask for, in the presence of someone else randomly. Does it mean it was meant for this person, or was it a general statement about the nature of God’s design and hand.

To clarify, I had a vision about the nature of marriage which shocked me to the floor to the point I had to go home and lie down. It was 100% pure, heavenly, not an ounce of lust/selfish/pride or argument, all that society has turned it into a joke or sinful or having to prove. It had nothing to do with the people’s personality, likes/dislikes, and everything to do with God’s ultimate plan, trust, faith, and Will.

It was clean, like I’d never seen before. It was Holy, and right and ordained by the Lord and completely a grace no one even deserves. It was like that of two angels together, is all I can best describe it as, like that of two saints together-- unbelievable.

My question is, why would I have this sort of random “sign” in the presence of someone, without me even asking for it and also during a really horrible time in my life, and does this mean God has some sort of plan for this person in particular, or was it more of a general statement on the nature of God and His creation of marriage for purposes of glorifying Him?

I would tend to think the later, because to be honest, I don’t really feel like getting married and have veered more toward a donna/lay order nature.

Be patient. The full meaning of an epiphany usually takes some time. Reflect on it in your heart, and see what comes of it.

St. John of the Cross advises to do nothing concerning supposed, supernatural revelations except reporting them to a spiritual advisor. He discusses it extensively in the Ascent of Mount Carmel. He advises to just let them go. We do not know where they come from, no matter how “100% pure, heavenly” they seem. If they do come from God, we very likely would not understand them if we attempted to do so. Any attachment to these supposed, supernatural revelations, St. John says, hinder our reaching spiritual union with God.

I get it. Most people think what St. John of the Cross advises is silly. I tend to lend him great credence. Though I do not understand much of what he wrote, that which I think I understand seems quite impressive to me. He is a Doctor of the Church.

Good advise. I also add that you pray and ask the Lord to reveal what He wants you to understand. If nothing comes immediately, don’t worry, just trust in Him to show you want He wants to in His timing. My prayers.

Thanks, I don’t expect anyone to “explain” God, but it at least helps me to see what it means.

I had a similar sign a few months before this one, but I had asked for it. I said “God, I want you to tell me how YOU see me.” I asked this because I was unhappy with people’s explanations of me or overall generalizations of me.

Well, I had no idea what I was in for. I was SHOCKED. It happened while people were praying for me. Suddenly, I saw this huge whiteness, not really a light but a huge glow and like my body was light. Then I “heard” (I’ll use the word heard, but it was not really with ears or words) the words: I MADE YOU! If it had been spoken it would have been like a huge booming voice, even one that sounded complete in itself. The tone of the voice, best described, was like the maker of a sculpture of clay, holding it up and taking 100% ownership and responsibility of it. It was love, sacrifice, and completely unwarranted and free.

Well, I was not shocked to the floor, but I was astounded. I had been under such oppression of people categorizing me for years. She is this that and the other. Suddenly, I had a God who just took complete authority and responsibility.

It had nothing to do with: (which shocked me) my place in time, my age, my degrees, my occupation, my looks, my family, my race, my wealth, my location, my gifts-- it was just IS. The explanation was: I am “HE THAT CREATED ME”

Anyway, I get these things a lot, I have premonitions/etc it’s not like I want them, so I don’t know what to do but I have heard that other people don’t get them, but God does what he wants. Who am I to judge

I have one last vision I’ll post because it’s along the same lines as those previous, although there was an equally shocking and striking one, but I will save that one for myself but it has to do with the design of mothers and their children.

I have heard and felt God’s large hand on my head more than once. It’s not really a physical hand but more of a spiritual one and it covers my whole head but not hard, it’s not pushing on it, but more almost just resting slightly above, the best I can describe it. It comes with the loving words, they aren’t words but it’s like love in words-- and always displays and slowly: “I love __ ___ (my name).”

I don’t know why He chooses to say my first and last name, it’s sort of strange, but I have concluded it’s because he intends to single it out-- because it’s a uniqueness; it’s a person. A being. He is desciphering that when he says first and last name. It’s like “I know you. I know who you are” But again, it has nothing to do with how the world would ever view me. It’s a completely selfless and not-ever biased, it’s not rooted in someone’s career, money, grades, education, marital status, awards, age, looks, health, activities, etc etc. IT just is and it’s completely free and unwarranted. It’s love.

Exactly. When I have had experiences like this, my pastor said to just be careful not to let them become an opportunity for the devil by making too much of them. The Gospel says, “And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19)…and chose to say this *before *relating the story of Simeon in the Temple, of the reaction of Anna the prophetess, or the story of the Finding in the Temple.

What “happened” after the Finding in the Temple? Twenty years about which the Gospels are entirely silent. Twenty years! St. John of the Cross and my old pastor knows that devil wants to tempt the faithful to take these things in their own hands, but this is not what Our Lady did. Tell them to a spiritual advisor, but otherwise do not force anything. Do not worry that you have these, do not worry if they stop. Do take it to heart that you serve the God who self-described as “I am who I am.” That is your identity: that is, that you exist at the pleasure of the Creator of all that has being. That is a message in keeping with the Gospel as handed down to us by the Apostles. “Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7 So put these things into your memory, like water in a canteen, things to reflect on in order to reinforce the truths you know without question are true. Besides that, do not worry about making too much of them.
