Why didn't the Holy Father's casket have a white funeral pall?

Why wasn’t there a white funeral pall over the casket at the Holy Father’s funeral Mass?

Probably because the primary liturgical color for the Holy Father’s funeral Mass was red. Red was used because it is the color for the apostles’ feasts and the Pope’s office is apostolic.
