I just watched that video … awesome show. I never seen Penn and Teller before, almost as good as Bill Maher.

it was funny. My favorite, a gay Catholic is like a Jewish Nazi … I’m still cracking up thinking about it.
Maybe the humour was lost one me because I am still trying to figure out why the Christian God let Satan/Lucifer be on his precious earth with his precious Adam and Eve.

he was setting them up for failure

with love like that who needs hate?

I believe it’s because God foresaw how sin would enter the world (and it would have happened no matter what the situation as we have free will) but put a plan into effect that would give us something even greater than what was originally given to Adam and Eve, i.e., his only begotten son Jesus Christ, the Church, the Holy Spirit, the free gift of grace and faith . . etc.

He did not set us up for failure, but being God I’m sure He was aware that whatever the given situation sin somehow would enter the world through free will. Knowing this he still created us because he had a plan that would rectify the mistakes of our first parents. He loved us unconditionally despite the betrayal and gave us something even greater than original holiness, He gave us Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, the sacraments, and the many graces that come with believing and acting upon our faith . . . etc. These are gifts infinitely precious and completely free. And you have the temerity to mock God’s love?

Peace to you,

You love God I can see but you also doubt Him. It is easy to point the finger. Satan is the father of lies. The stories told in the bible are but a glimpse of what really happened.

If you have children you would understand what I am talking about. God gave all His children free will; He didn’t want us to fail, He hoped that all He gave Adam and Eve in Paradise was enough but apparently not; they chose to defy Him and sought to be like Him a god.

He respected all His creatures so He gave us another chance by offering Jesus (which He willingly accepted). Meanwhile Satan was laughing in His face (so to speak) and Our Father rather than thunderbolting him out of existence gave him his right to free will but not without a plan.

It is in this plan that we are saved and find total communion with God the Almighty. Believe in Jesus for He defeated Death and broke the chains that bind us.

If you wish to know more please PM me or ask in one of the posts.

wow, quite a plan to reverse taking a bite of a piece of fruit?

there is no loving god, so I can’t mock what doesn’t exist!

if he foresaw so much, then why such a convoluted plan? I can think of a bunch of better ways to approach the problem god allegedly faced that would have avoided considerable human suffering

If He doesn’t exist then you should leave out commentating on such issues, no point in criticizing what’s not there, right?

well, you guys don’t believe in science, yet you keep butting your noses into it? I would love a world where the religious kept their noses out of secular affairs (I sure wouldn’t be here expressing concern over these issue if the world were like that).

yet I bet you haven’t bothered to research any of their assertions?
I’m going to ask you a question, but did you notice when they spoke of sexual abuse in the Church that there was no mention that of the cases revealed (80%) most were committed by predatory gay priests? It speaks volumes that they showed a female abuse victim in a show that was ultimately promoting the gay agenda.

Hello yankee!
I’m sure there are other reasons you are here. You want to defend what you believe, but aren’t you still a work in progress? Isn’t your mind open to other beliefs, as well?
