I was in a local Catholic hospital the other day waiting on some test results and as I wandered through the hospital and different waiting rooms to kill time, I noticed that every waiting had a bible in it. Great I thought ! Then I realized EVERY BIBLE was a Protestant bible!!! Not one that I saw was Catholic!
Has anybody else noticed this? Am I crazy for thinking that Catholic hospitals should only have Catholic bibles available for people to read? Why would we supply anything other than the fullness of the truth?
I also noticed that the bookstore in the hospital carried Protestant bibles, and also books by Protestant evangelists. My concern here is, as I skimmed through the books, they were teaching ‘faith alone’ and ‘bible alone’. Again, why would a Catholic hospital provide materials contrary to what it knows is true, just for the sake of being ‘inclusive’?
Does anybody else thing this is wrong? To be honest, I am so tired with “Catholic” institutions that seem to hedge at being fully Catholic.
