Mary as Mediatrix…

Again this addressed thee very idea of Mary worshipped as “idol” which is also a promoted false doctrine in theory and thinking. Which has also been addressed here is several posts.

Do some learn and comprehend the truth? Of course. Yet we have other’s who come here week after week and year after year, To point fingers at Catholic as Idol worshippers in contrary to correct Biblical and Catholic Doctrine. Expalined in detail confirmed with Bibllical teaching and Catholic CCC and Doctrine, nonetheless the idea is constantly proposed, to what extent in the good the Lords Kingdom does this serve God? But to futher divide an already divided Christianity in the West and USA. How does this effectively serve Gods Kingdom?

PAX!

I can also understand how one would be skeptical in being Protestant and reading biographys by Catholics which may be viewed as Bias.🤷

Here is why I recommend Dr. Pelikans “Mary Through the Centurys” His credentials are staggering and he is Lutheran with a father who was a Luthean Minister. Head of Religion and Theology at Yale through the 90’s with 40 Honorary Doctrines worldwide.

This is not some Pius Catholic thinking with Mary, its a well researched history in the most venerated Woman in the History of the World.

To say “She is no different that you I” is a proposterous statement!

God Bless, Gary

One of the major things that disturbs me about the people who post that Mary was a “Vessel” and 'no better than you or me". . .

is that this sort of thinking ‘diminishes’ Jesus’ humanity.

In fact, it kind of paints Jesus as using humanity like a Hallowe’en costume, something He 'put on" for 33 years and then ‘took off’. As though He is always God and for 33 years of human ‘time’ put on a disguise of humanity, kind of popping ‘in and out’ of some ‘vessel’ but not really being a full HUMAN and leaving that ‘disguise’ behind once He had died and was resurrected.

Jesus is fully God AND fully human. He has a human MOTHER. He suckled like any other human baby. He grew in Mary’s womb LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN BABY GROWS IN THE MOTHER’S WOMB. From the instant He was conceived (with the requisite chromosomes etc.like any OTHER human baby) He was GOD MADE MAN,

But treating Mary as a vessel, as a ‘sinner’, as somebody with a ‘regular’ old human family and living a regular old life, just as it were ‘popping out’ Jesus and then pretty much ignoring Him except to be all ‘stupid’ about His Godhood, again just seems to de-emphasize that Jesus was "a man like us in all things but sin’. . .NOT simply “a god who pretended to be a person.”

In the LC-MS, it is not mandatory to believe that Mary was semper virgo, Martin Luther and most Lutheran leaders in the LC-MS until recently believed this about the Blessed Virgin Mary. I believe that she was ever virgin.
