Why do Catholics burn incense to statues?

Why do Catholics burn incense to statues of Jesus and the saints?
 
Catholics do not burn incense to the statues, but to God. The incense is offered to God through the intercession of Christ and his saints. The statues represent Christ and his saints, but are not “gods” and are not treated as idols.
