Why do Catholics call Priests Father and where in Scripture does it say its alright?

I’ve been asked many times by non-Catholics why we call Priests “father”. They do not think it is right because only God should be referred to as “Father”. Why do Catholics call Priests Father and where in Scripture does it say its alright? Thank you.
