I see some have posted scripture for every baptized Catholic to partake. What I would like to see now is scripture evidence that only 144,000 can partake. No JW has ever presented such evidence to me.
There is no such scripture but this is how they think, and it’s complicated!
JW’s believe that scripture was written only to the 144,000, not to anyone else. Of course in NT times, everyone was of the 144,000, but since then most of the slots have been filled, and only a few thousand are left at the present time. JW’s pass the bread and wine around, from person to person, once a year on the Jewish date Nisan 14, and they signal their membership in the 144,000 by partaking. Of course most of the time no one partakes!
The Watchtower teaches that only the 144,000 are in the new covenant, that scripture only applies to those, and so it follows that any scripture that says to partake only applies to a self-designated member of the 144,000. When the average JW reads scripture, he or she must always remind themselves that what they read is not for them, but applies only to the “little flock”, the 144,000. The average JW is of the “other sheep,” the “great multitude.”
The remaining members of the 144,000 are rapidly dying off, and when one dies, he or she is turned into a spirit creature and goes to heaven. Only the little flock go to heaven.
How do the “other sheep” get saved? Well, by how well they obey the 144,000, saved via their association with them. That is, they won’t be killed off if Armageddon arrives while they are still alive, and if they die before Armageddon, they will be resurrected to live in the millenium. How they behave in the 1000 year reign will determine if they survive to live in “the paradise earth.”
