Why do Catholics use elaborate architecture to build churches?

If you’re interested in making your blood boil, here is an article that appeared just a few days ago on a technology site:

To save the Catholic Church, redesign it

Several of the comments pointed out that Catholics don’t have “worship halls” or “meeting spaces” – those are Protestant ideals.

Et clamor meus ad te veniat
Greetings fellow Catholics,
I am a college student in an English class, and have been given the task of writing an argumentative thesis paper. I have chosen the road less traveled and decided that my thesis is will argue the fallacies that Anti-Catholics have towards Mother Church .I humbly ask if anyone here knows of irrefutable copyrighted evidence disproving the fallacies. I have scoured the internet for proof but mainly all that I reaped were fallible opinions( no disrespect) based upon non-copyrighted material (proof I cannot use) I found sites that hold the +imprimatur+ but I don’t think I could use them as a valid source for it having a biased opinion( or can I ?). The topics are as follow
  • Idolization of statues praying to the saints and the blessed mother.
  • The baptism of infants and children rather than as an adult ( original sin )
  • Why we still include the books of the apocrypha.
I was told that I can’t use the well-known ever knowing contents Wiki so im kind of stuck in a proverbial limbo. Any help would be great !

Greetings and Salutations! First off, I need to tell you this isn’t really the forum for these questions. This is a forum on Traditional Catholicism, in a thread about Architecture. The thread you want to search first is Apologetics. Search through that thread for answers to your questions; if you have more questions post them in that forum. Don’t start posting your question in multiple forums – that’s a quick way to become banned.

Next, if you go to the home page of Catholic Answers (catholic.com), at the very bottom you’ll see a copyright notice by Catholic Answers. This means that unless the tract or web page says otherwise, every page that appears on www.catholic.com is copyrighted by Catholic Answers – there’s your copyright notice. The “About” tab will have a link to the section on permissions and attributions.

Lastly, check out jimmyakin.com/ for more sources and ideas

Good Luck!
