Why aren’t electrons expanding like our universe or collapsing into a nucleus?

Two questions worth considering.
 
I believe that God keeps the world together…and electrons moving 😉

Their negative charge causes them to repel each other. The matching positive charge on protons pulls them back.

Note that science can only tell you what they do; not how they do it, i.e. why do charges repel or attract.
 
This seems to fideistic for my comfort. I’m going to have to agree with Joe Kelly. They have properties that keep them together. God created this universe as an ordered universe. Which gives us the ability to understand what happens in it through reason and science.

We can understand what happens, but we can’t explain why.

Yup, that’s true…

Everything in creation is in motion some how or other and If I remember correctly stable atoms can’t exist without our electron friends.

Also, if I remember correctly, electrons are part of an atom I wonder would happen if they stopped moving? I can’t imagine an atom going “quietly into that goodnight”.

I was curious about the opinions of those who don’t believe in God.

So far, they have no comment.
Will you be surprised if Catholics give you the same answer as those who don’t believe in God? Science is the same for believers and non-believers alike, you know.
