I’m going to ask you to support that statement with some evidence.I also prefer the idea of working without a net because divorce and easy annulments are contagious.

Yes, there is more of a complication than with the divorce. Did you read the article I posted?there is no complication with children (other than what they are already suffering because of the divorce, which is a done deal with or without the annulment) because there status is not affected. Why are you bringing this up?

vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c2a6.htm2385: Divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society. This disorder brings grave harm to the deserted spouse, to children traumatized by the separation of their parents and often torn between them, and because of its contagious effect which makes it truly a plague on society.
I agree with this. Also marriage is tough! I love my husband and am very happy, but even if I could somehow find someone else in the unthinkable situation of a divorce or an annulment, I just don’t think I would have it in me to give it another go!Yes, there is more of a complication than with the divorce. I brought it up to answer the question if the ease of annulments bothers me in my marriage.
That is just me personally though. What I want doesn’t affect anyone and doesn’t make any difference in the way annulments are handled.
- I prefer the idea that if I get a divorce I will live alone the rest of my life. I prefer to work without a net or skydive with out a back-up chute so to speak.
- I prefer the idea that if I do divorce my children would not have to worry about legitimacy or if their father or mother has a grave abnormality that prevents them from entering a marriage.
Marriage is tough! That is another reason I wouldn’t want an annulment. I could go and get married again! Oh sure, people say they will never remarry but but 9 times out of 10 they just don’t remain single. God forbid I ever get a divorce, but not being able to get an annulment would at least be a nice way to chain myself to the tree of singledom before I turn into a love zombie.I agree with this. Yes, divorce has a contagious effect, like a plague, on society. The problems caused by divorce spread far and wide throughout society and are passed down through generations. But divorce isn’t passed around society like a flu bug.
Do you not think that there are other causes of divorce than mere availability of divorce?Yes, divorce has a contagious effect, like a plague, on society. And there’s nothing in there about “easy annulments,” which are anything but.

Well, I have heard that the number one cause of divorce is marriage.Do you not think that there are other causes of divorce than mere availability of divorce?
People IMO, often marry for the wrong reasons. Do you not think that may be the case?
For example people marry because of sexual attraction only. A sexologist once told me that it takes 2 weeks for the average human to ‘get used’ to the body of his or her partner. In this case it’s no wonder that people who marry because of pure physical attraction will loose interest in the only thing which genuinely holds them together, since their marriage was not based on anything else.
LOL, good one. But if people marry for the wrong reasons, it’s no wonder they seek divorce or annulment. Right?Well, I have heard that the number one cause of divorce is marriage.![]()
If people get married for the wrong reasons than it could very well be an invalid marriage not the other way around. And please don’t mind the joke I think in a conversation like this once in a while it is good to insert humor as long as it is aimed at the subject matter and not anyone.LOL, good one. But if people marry for the wrong reasons, it’s no wonder they seek divorce or annulment. Right? If peoples’ idea of marriage is wrong when reality hits them they want a way out. It’s like an impulse buy, you know.
With the taboo of pre-marital sex pretty much gone from our society, I’m not sure the number how many people get married anymore just so they can have access to sex.Do you not think that there are other causes of divorce than mere availability of divorce?

This. This. This. There are plenty of people with problems that result in nullity decrees and** there are also nullity decrees that wouldn’t necessarily withstand appellate review in Rome.**
yes I read the article which is why I answered.Yes, there is more of a complication than with the divorce. Did you read the article I posted?
and I doubt anyone who has gone through this will agree with you that annulment is easyI brought it up to answer the question if the ease of annulments bothers me in my marriage.
