Why do I never see windows?

Largest one in Russia is that in the St. Isaak of Dalmatia Sobor in St. Petersburg, made by German firm.
wow, what a breath-taking picture!

Our parish has 8 big stained glasses made by German company as well. They are well over 80 years old and very beautiful. (if I heard it correctly), this company is still there, and the parish just order many more glasses from them. The total stained glasses at my parish will be over 36 of them when finished (8 big windows and 20+ small ones near top of the ceiling around the church).
 
These were a result of Western Church influence. In the traditional Carpathian wooden and post-wooden churches, the windows are clear glass.

If they had glass at all. I have a couple of fotos of churches in Lemkovina where they had simple wooden shutters on the windows and no glass:eek:
