My confirmation is coming up soon and I am required to write a letter to the priest explaining my desire to be confirmed. My reasons are all apparently unacceptable to write in the letter. For example: No more CCD. Can you please help me understand the meaning of the sacrament better so I may find a reason to desire it?

Haven’t the teachers of your confirmation classes given you reasons why you should desire to be confirmed? If not, it would be a service to you and to your fellow confirmation candidates to politely ask for such reasons. Be honest. Raise your hand and say something like this:
Ms. Roberts, as you know, we have to write a letter to the pastor explaining why we want to be confirmed. But the only reasons I have so far are inadequate because all I can think of is that I don’t want to take CCD anymore. Could you please help us understand why we should want to be confirmed? What is there about this sacrament that makes it so special? Thank you.
