I call her blessed to. We just don’t go overboard and do something that was never instructed of Christians to do. We are to follow Christ if one wants to be a Christian not mary, she was a willing vessel as anyone could have been. We can see her example and learn from it but Christians should not make the error of the RCC and give a goddess like status to her
Asking her to pray for us does not mean we pray to her. Im not sure why you are confused over that?

You have never asked another to pray for you? Really?

If you have, were you praying to them??? Really?

Hardly. I ask members of my family to pray for me, and I certainly am NOT praying to them. I ask members of my parish to pray for me, and I definitely am not praying to them.
If you ask mary, who is just human and dead, for something your praying. You try to justify it until the cows come home and it still will not wash.

So you believe Mary is dead? That she no longer exists?

Sorry the dead can’t hear our prayers
people in Heaven are not dead
and why on earth would I want to go to anyone else in prayer when I have Christ.
so why do you ask your Christian friends to pray for you?? why not just pray to God yourself… it’s the same with Mary
The Scripture never tells us to pray to anyone but God.
actually it tells us not to worship anyone but God… which we don’t do.
I don’t believe the RCC is a Christian place, yes Christians might be there but the RCC is not Christian itself. I use to be Catholic, I pray for Catholics to throw off their worship of mary and turn to Christ. No where in Scripture does it speak of Mary as Catholics do.
I used to be Protestant… and I pray for Protestants to see the truth of Christ’s Church
Mary is no more special than any of us, as Scriptures say God is no respecter of persons.
are you serious?! Mary is no more special? um…okay I for one did not bear the Son of God in my womb…

did you know that the Early Church Fathers speak of Mary like the Catholic Church does? 🙂

I believe she is dead in body and her soul is in Heaven and for her the cares of this world are no more
And I believe her cares of this world are still very real, just like her Son’s cares of this world are very real.

If He still cares about us, I don’t find it hard to believe that His mother would still care, too.

What you suggest, to me anyway, is illogical of a mother’s heart.

She would care about what He cares about. That is what we mothers do.

Too bad. You are the first person on the planet Earth I know of - Christian or not - with a profound dislike for Mary, personally (well, you USE to). I was just curious what - in the Bible - lead to your deep feelings there.

.
it wasn’t the Bible, it was Protestantism.

I love Mary now. 🙂

Mary’s prayers helped me in many, many ways 🙂 she helped me overcome a main area of sin in my life

in Heaven, would you stop caring about your family and friends on earth? wouldn’t you at least want to ask God to help them attain salvation, especially since you’ll see all the more clearly how spiritually dark it is on earth?
wouldn’t you care about what God cares about, which is the salvation of souls?

Oh, Tis the season when we celebrate His birth!

Let us not quibble. Not Now.

Let us celebrate the greatest gift! The gift of God made flesh amongst us!

“Hail, and blessed be the hour, and the moment, in which the Son of God was born of the most holy virgin, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in a stable”

God with us. Let us all rejoice!! 😃

I like Mary!
I think deep down all Christian women wish that they were as special as Mary.My goodness with this time of the year when all the kids get together in church for the Nativity play, all the little girls want to play the part of Mary.
Because Mary is one of the main characters in the telling of the birth of our Lord and savior. Her part in the birth of Jesus didn’t stop there,no she raised up the son of God.So to be picked by God for such an important job to do.Mary’s special and deep down all Christian women at one time or another have thought what a great woman Mary must be in God’s eyes!

First I would like to say up front that my participation in this thread does not mean that I agree with the OP. I have never had the experience of a non-Catholic hating Mary. Disagreements with my beliefs, yes, but not hating Mary.

Then what in the world are you doing here? Sorry but we don’t need any more people from your corner (ie the ‘Catholic Church isn’t Christian’ corner’). It doesn’t lead to constructive discussion and it is a poor witness to the love that is found in Christ. I remind you, since by your own admission Catholics need to turn to Christ, that proselytization is prohibited here.

While the CA forums doesn’t need anymore posters from your persuasion I do hope you stick around for no other reason then to have your prejudices vanquished.

God bless

AMEN!

People who think we worship Mary, have not received the grace to understand it’s not worship, but an effort to love and respect Mary the way her Beloved Son, Our very Lord and Savior, loves and respects her.

Im not sure why people think that Jesus would ditch and disrespect His own mother.

That doesnt make sense to me. 🤷

God helped you, not mary. Christ died for you, yet that is not good enough you still want another

Nope, once in Heaven the cares of this world is gone. God takes care of things, I don’t want to.

Ineed you have just qualified everything that is wrong in RCCism. Don’t worry God can get bring you to Him and I will pray for you, I understand the no proselytizetion is allowed the truth is a had pill to sallow

Anti-Catholicism is not productive to a Catholic forum, especially in a forum where Catholic and non-Catholic brothers and sisters discuss their differences. It is frowned upon by both camps. If the ability to discuss differences in a respectful Christian manner is a “problem” with Catholicism, so be it.

It’s rather judgmental of you to suggest that I have not been led to Christ already.

God bless you

You have the truth like Calvin, Luther, Thomas Muntzer, Arius, Peter Waldo, David Koresh, Jim Jones, A. White and Jim Baker?

so true! the Holy Spirit reveals to us the secret of Mary 🙂
God helped you, not mary. Christ died for you, yet that is not good enough you still want another
wow why the personal insults?

Mary prayed for me, she’s my Mother, and I love her. And I love Jesus, He’s everything to me. So plz don’t judge my relationship with God, which you don’t know. 🙂
Nope, once in Heaven the cares of this world is gone. God takes care of things, I don’t want to.
really? 😦 I find that sad, to be honest…
I think if we love Jesus, we would care about what He cares about. I think that in Heaven, you’ll still care about your family’s/friend’s salvation, even if you don’t think so now 😉
