please give me the direct link to that thread, I believe I have deleted from the subscription…thanks.
For future reference just click the arrow in the quote to be taken to the original post. It’s not necessary to go back and continue the discussion, as I said in an earlier post I don’t think any good will come of continuing dialogue with you. Could be me, I just got that yucky feeling from the “tone” of your reply though.

Prodigal One,

We could argue the Hebrews text all day, but it sideskirts the question doesn’t it. Let’s say it means that there are heavenly examples all around us, where does it grant Mary her powers to mediate and offers our prayers to God?

Respectfully,

Chris
We ask Mary to pray for us, it’s that simple. Have you ever asked anyone to pray for you? It’s the same thing. If there is only one mediator between God and us, why would you ask anyone else to pray for you? Because scriptures is full of examples of asking for prayers from others.

Lets look past the whole virgin thing and if you believe she was a virgin all the days of her life. Who cares? Let’s talk about where this belief comes from. I’m just asking for a straight answer. And if you don’t have one, just profess that this is something cooked up my man. Jesus didn’t say that the only way to the Father is through me and my mom. Or that the only way to me is though my mom. Or that your prayers will be more effective if you tell my mom first. I can’t believe that Mary has this power.

Respectfully,

Chris
Wow, your attitude changed real quick! Come in here real polite and within a dozen posts your true colors come out. Most of the holtile protestants go longer than that before the claws come out. Can you spell A-G-E-N-D-A ?

Sounds like something specifically reserved for Christ doesn’t it?
Do you really think the ark of the new covenant, the vessel, the mother of our Lord, who found God’s favor and was called full of grace by the Angel of the Lord didn’t make it to heaven?

Does the Bible tell us anywhere that Mary sinned?

Prodigal Son,

You don’t get the point. You are working on assumptions. Who cares if Mary was sinless. When I ask forgiveness, I am sinless also. Jesus’ righteousness is passed on to me. Does that mean I’m still a sinning minion because I had sinned before? No. My sins are cast as far as the East is from the West never to be remembered. You are missing the whole point. My salvation isn’t based on my beliefs about Mary’s sinful or sinless nature. She gave birth as a virgin, that’s important.

Respectfully,

Chris

Indeed, but I spent most of yesterday rebuilding my pc and tidying it up so I hadn’t seen it till now. I await with bated breath to hear what a ‘little C’ Catholic is or believes. I suspect it means a ‘Catholic’ who can believe what they ‘feel’ is best.

Thank you, I believe in Gods word only.

I am not playing cat and mouse. I said it doen’t affect my salvation if I believe Mary was always a Virgin. I do not believe she was but it doen’t matter one way or the other. Now what is it you would like to debate? I don’t cuppose it affects your salvation unless you believe it does.
Well, so you know, I do not believe it affects Christ’s believer’s salvation to believe Mary remained ever-virgin.

You are side-stepping the issue again. The point he is making is that Mary is being viewed here in a vast superior way of interceding as compared to you and I praying for each other. The Catholic Cetechism speaks of Mary as co-mediator with Christ. That is far from the concept of intercessory prayers in church amongst parishioners.

Even though you’re changing the discussion to something else totally, it has been discussed in this thread. No one here is saying that the way to God is through Jesus and his ‘mom’, as you call her. We ask her to pray for us, just as I assume you ask other Christians to pray for you.

🙂
It’s not an agenda, but you attacked me with the whole sarcastic post you sent me, remember? I’m being very polite. Trust me. Just because my questions are pointed, direct, and provoke thought doesn’t mean anything about my politeness. It’s not an agenda, but the question has to be asked. Because it’s not that a Protestant doesn’t like Mary, we just don’t believe that she has been given such a position of authority in the life of Christians.

Respectfully,

Chris

Yes, because I am confident that when I ask them to pray for me, they hear me. Mainly, because they give me a response. I pray to Jesus because he said he can hear my thoughts and hear me. Nothing is said about Mary. Please tell me where it says she has this power. Also, do you think that she can hear silent prayer?

Respectfully,

Chris

You will be lucky if Iziod puts you on ignore like he has me cause he doesn’t like to hear anything but himself. You are right on and welcome and God Bless

It is no different. If you ask your pastor to pray for you, are you placing him on a level with Christ? NO, I don’t believe you are. The same as asking Christ’s mother to pray for us does not make her a divinity, even if you try to convince me we believe otherwise.🤷

I last posted on this thread at 1:40PM my time (3:12PM now) and post #1023) … WOW look at the mess you all have got yourself into. I’m sorry I wasn’t here to referee.

People, this thread is close to being closed because of the 1000 post limit placed on threads.

For those who have jumped in on the end of a long discussion, let me invite you to read through it’s entireity as everything being brought up, again, has been discussed.
