anyway, i am thankful for Mary and Joseph and God for bringing the Savior into our human realm so we know Jesus is very personal and suffered all the things we do but to a degree we cannot imagine.

Hi tweetymom,

Any suggestions about what I should do. I did the meet and greet thing. I figured out the signature thing. I went to the member online and saw you cute name and clicked on your name and this is how I got here. I was told by a catholic friend about this place and was told to stay in apologetics and nonreligious unless i became a catholic. otherwise just observe.

i know that is rather a vague question but maybe who are the people that i might follow around to engage in the forumn?
Well thank you for the kind words. It is probably best to go look to the forums and see what you might like to visit. There are a whole list of threads to engage in. And you friend was right.
You could follow mw around, but sometimes I get in trouble so I might not be your best bet. 🙂 But glad to meet you and hope to be your friend and God Bless and may God help you find you way around.

I did not pay attention to who it was made by and i would guess there are many tracts available from a variety of publishers/
You asked, “Isn’t he the one that puts out tracts” and I answered yes. I wasn’t referring to the individual tract you were talking about in your story.

I have a sil that sends those in her cards. I read them am not offended by them even if I do not always agree. Some people here do not like them because in some he refers in a bad way to the Catholic Church. Guess I am dumb never had one sent to me that did.
You should review those tracts for historical accuracy, amoung other things before assuming they are benevolent in nature.

Thanks again; I’ll go back to the Member online and jump in somewhere and keep my other eye on you. i was reading through quite a few of the threads in here to the point where my head hurts-too much staring at the computer - seems to be a noticeable tone that is not exactly Christ-like and seems like you are very unpopular with quite a few for some reason you seem very nice in spite of what seems to be some animosity - good sign of a Christian with a teflon coating. i saw your profile and noticed you are a young 70 plus - must be the Lord and lifelong experience. glad to meet you and hope i see you around.

who are some of the more experienced and charitable catholics i can follow or observe to learn more about doctrines

The bible never tells us that Mary was sinless all the days of her life and thus is exalted in heaven with the power to hear millions of prayers all at once.
So.

I’m not sola scriptura. The Bible doesn’t say she sinned either. Using sola scriptura as an argument we’re 1:1.

I am unpopular because I do not agree with everything that is said and sometimes i get a whole lot angry and then I post in anger. Not proud of that flaw and trying to turn the other cheek. Just keep looking and you will find a lot that are charitable. God Bless you on your journey.

They have to come out swinging on this issue becasue the Scriptural text is not in their favor and they know it. Creating doubt is their only chance. Catholics have come up with a thousand counter-responses to each Bible passage that speaks of Joseph not having relations with Mary UNTIL Jesus was born, Mary giving birth to her FIRSTBORN, Jesus, Jesus’ siblings and ALL have fallen short of God’s grace. I was a cradle-Catholic for over 30 years and I have heard all of the end-around avoiding excuse and doubt filled responses to the truth of God’s word.
Completely the opposite. Catholics have all of scripture to back up Mary’s perpetual virginity. Protestants who disagree with it (Most orthodox protestants believe in Mary’s perpetual virginity, btw), have one – only one word “until” that they put their faith in. All of scripture vs. one word. It doesn’t affect our salvation, but it makes scripture even that much more rich when you delve into the significance of Mary from Genesis to Revelation. I just think y’all are missing out, and I challenge you to expand your thinking beyond one little word. “until.”

I really do not think we need an intercesor.
Why is that?

1 Timothy 2:1: First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men

James 5: 16: Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects

I meant the person that I was replying too:whacky:

I think you are correct. Are any of these verses about praying that a saint should or would pray for us? Also note, we are to confess to each other; no mention to confess to a clergy person.

Thank you. I have an attitude seems like the pot calling the kettle black. Glad you have no arrogance! I never said I know better, just I believe in the Bible for my teaching. You know saying I don’t like you and others now that is arrogance on your part. God Bless you anyway. Oh and it is also wrong. I just don’t like the way you treat others.
What about the way you treat others? You refute any good, Catholic response to your posts. I don’t know how you can explain your behavior, Tweety.

I do not need Mary to interceed when Jesus is on the mainline. I love Mary but I go direct, now you know why:thumbsup:
But God** gave** us Mary. He has placed intercession in her hands - she told us herself, that she wanted to intercede for us along with all the saints and angels. She leads us to Him.

Should or would? Do you not think they would, let alone should? Of course!

Revelation 5:8: And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints

God gave us Mary and I do love and honor her as Jesus mother. But Jesus did not say that she was our intercessor. I go direct to the Father thru Jesus.
