The biggest thing is probably lack of knowledge, and the praying to Mary and the Saints.
I know ,I know it is not praying to them but it is a lack of knowledge why all religions think all religions other than theirs is right

It is a misunderstanding, not understanding that praying the Rosary, etc, is not vain repetition, but instead meditative prayer.

Not all n-C Christians say meditative prayer is vain, so your thread title is misleading.
And about your final question, “Its useful repetations why they attack on Catholics?”.
Disagreeing is not necessarily an attack.

They are talking about the Rosary in which they do not understand. The Rosary are the prayers from the Gospel. In the Protestant churches, they constantly repeat themselves by saying their chants at least 50 times in a row. One woman told me she is tired of repeating the same old line.

When have non-Catholics said that Catholics pray in vain repetition? I’ve been a Protestant all of my life and never heard that.

Of course not ALL Protestants believe that. It would be more correct to say that there are some Protestant and many non-Catholics that believe Catholics pray in vain repetitions.

Repetitious prayer I believe, is condemned in old and new testaments. I don’t have the verses off hand but perhaps someone else knows them…

Here are a couple of examples I picked up off the web:

The chanting of the Roman Catholic Rosary is VAIN REPETITION!!!

Before you can condemn something using the bible you need to read the verse in context to the rest of the bible.

Your quote above is incorrect, here is the bible verse:

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” -Matthew 6:7

“Vain” was left out of your quote. What this verse is referring to is “the heathen” They would repeat their prayers over and over and call on the names of different gods. Their prayer was “in vain” because they were not praying to God but to many gods. No prayer to God is rejected.

Jesus is certainly not condemning all repetition in prayer, for He Himself repeated His prayer in Gethsemane: “He went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words” (Mt 26:44; also Mark 14:39). He encourages His followers “always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1), and then tells the parable of a persistent widow who continually pleaded with an unjust judge to “Avenge me of mine adversary” (Luke 18:2-8). The widow’s repetitious pleading, according to Christ, should be our model for prayer to God!

God also accepts the praises of the holy angels who "rest not day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come” (Apocalypse/Revelation 4:8). Evidently, not all repetitious prayer is “vain repetition”!

I had used part of that as a montra, and meditated for several days. The meditation became a mind expansion after only about a half an hour. It was a very beautiful experience, and a spirit of some sort would enter my expanded mind each time I had difficulty in repeating the montra. She would issue a list of rules of symmetry, then I would become free again to continue with the meditation.

I had been told by an expert before meditating that there are two major dangers in mind expanded meditation. One is to forget the montra and to continue to meditate without it, and the other is to not want to stop the meditation because it is so pleasant.

Well, I believe it was about three days, when I stopped. I told a catholic monk who is a priest, and he said that what i did was very, very dangerous. He believed that I could have been attacked by evil spirits. He doesn’t oppose all meditation, he practices centered prayer.

First who are “they”? All Non Roman Catholics?

Shocking as it may seem to you, some actually pray the rosary. The Rosary is mostly not prayers from the gospels as you put it. Each of the 15 mysteries relates to an event that is believed. Some are supported directly by scripture and others are believed by the Roman Church such as the Assumption and Crowning of Mary. Between each are 10 hail Mary’s. There is at the beginning a recitation of the Apostles creed, and there is an Our Father at the beginning of each mystery. A Glory Be… is also included. At the end are recitation of a number of prayers, usually including the Hail Holy Queen, The Memorarae, and others, depending. We always used to end with St. Michael’s.

there are many rosary openings. Some have long written out mysteries, the basic allows the person to simply meditate on each mystery as they choose. Some have virtues to meditate on as well, and some have closing prayers to each decade.

Some rosary’s are prayed as 9 day novenas others as much longer. One of the better long ones is the Novena to Our lady which takes 54 days, half in petition, half in thanksgiving.

Like other prayers such as the Jesus prayer, they are meant to allow the mind to settle in silence and produce a deep contemplation of God or the events of the various mysteries.

You are in error in using the phrase " all Protestant churches" and then making a statement. Each denomintion has it’s own practices, and while they overlap, there is no basis for claiming that ALL do anything.

Er, excuse me, but I do not need a non-Catholic to tell me about the Rosary. THE ROSARY ARE IN FACT THE PRAYERS FROM THE GOSPELS. Every prayer is in the Gospel. If you do not know this, you do not know the Gospel.

Then don’t read it. Why so hostile to someone who speaks well the Rosary? Stop looking for disagreement where there is none.

The Apostle’s Creed is not found in the Gospel. The second part of the Hail Mary is not found in the Gospel. But that doesn’t keep it from being a good and pious meditation.

The apostles Creed is most definitely found in the Gospels. The Creed is the life and death of Jesus Christ…

No it is a synthesis of ideas from the gospels and maybe a few other books. It leaves out a lot of what Jesus actually taught. Probably because the churches are most loyal to what Paul taught.

What chants? Protestant (Salvation Army/Baptist) all my life and I’ve never heard of repeating chants 50 or more times in a row. The most I can think of is that we often repeated the last line of many songs.

**We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth, ( not in the bible?)
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, (not in the bible?)
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary (oh, that’s not in the bible either?)
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified died and was buried (yep, not in the bible).
He descended to the dead, on the third day He arose from the dead,
He ascended into heaven, and is seateth at the right hand of the Father
From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sin, and the Resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come . Amen.

Yep, none of this is in the bible whatsoever.**
