It is actually not self-evident that the sky is blue. That the sky is blue is only evident upon observation. The claim is not evident by itself. A truly self-evident proposition is “two plus two equals four” because if someone understands what the proposition means, it cannot be contradicted.I definitely understand, but you have it backwards.
If I say the dragon doesn’t exist, that is not a positive claim, because the dragon’s existence is not self evident. Therefore the one making the claim that it does exist needs to do the proving, just as the person making the claim that the sky is always hot pink would need to do, because it is not self evident that the sky is hot pink, it is self evident that the sky is blue.
