In a sense, yes, in that God has for whatever reason, allowed human death into the world.This was asked by a friend and I wanted to answer appropriately. Love y’all, Sheila
(The correct, Thomistic answer is that the “whatever reason” is original sin; but I’m not dealing with that right now.)
When weighed against eternity, the relative duration of human life ends up not to matter very much. Methuselah lived to the age of 969; almost nothing is known of his life apart from that number; our LORD was at most, 39 years old when He was killed, yet nobody influenced human life more.

Everybody has their time to do their work. I accidentally found myself attending a funeral for a pair of stillborn twins-- in their few months of existence, they had done a tremendous amount for their parents and their parents’ marriage. Their parents were frustrated at many difficulties in their lives, and had some major issues that were leading them towards divorce. The twins helped them shift their thinking, and they ended up far more solid and united as a result of (a) looking forward to a future as a family, and then (b) getting the news that the twins wouldn’t make it to viability, and then (c) through the tragedy of loss.
I remember hearing about one boy who was in junior high or high school or something. He was on a bad path, with bad friends, and unwholesome hobbies. He didn’t like who he was becoming, but he didn’t have the strength to say no. He knew that he was offending God with his lifestyle, and his prayer was that God would please stop him. I can’t remember why he died— but it was the answer to his prayer. Not quite as touchy-feely and inspiring, but you come across several examples that follow those lines.
