I once asked a friend who is a non-practicing Pentecostal (for lack of a better term I guess) She told me that she has never read The Bible. I told her “That is the word of God. You are not at all curious about what God has to say?” She told me “Not really” and she is not anti-God or even really a bad person, she is just not interested. Shes still doing the “Im gonna live a life of sin for now and maybe repent later. But I am not going to church while I am sinning because that would make me a hypocrite” I cant cast stone though because I did this myself at one time. So, some people do not care.
Others are so sure that they already have the right answers that they do not want to hear anything else. Others think it does not matter as long as you really love God. And I guess that is true in a way but when I myself went through my conversion to Catholicism from Protestantism, I really, really wanted to know the Truth and I decided to do some research. That comes with being willing to think “What if I am wrong? Is it a possibility that some of what I think is true is not?” And not a lot of people are willing to do that. Or they are afraid of what they might find out. That is all my opinion though. I could be wrong
