Why do people think abortion is wrong?

Because it violently ends the life of an innocent child.

Abortion is the killing of a human being with malice afterthought - e.g., murder.

Science teaches that human life begins at conception (fertilization). Hence, the unborn baby has the right to life. Taking the life away with the intent to commit an unlawful act or cause harm without legal justification or excuse is murder in the law books. So abortion is murder.

That’s why abortion is wrong.
 
Don’t forget it is a DIRECT killing of an innocent life. That it is a direct taking of an innocent life is what makes it murder.

A better question is, “How can people possibly justify the atrocity of abortion, which is a greater crime than slavery?”

Pope Paul - why do you ask? Your question is rather interesting…it seems to me that you are asking the questions because you think about is acceptable? It that is the case than here is my answer…

Abortion kills an innocent and defenseless life and stops a beating heart (a sure sign of life).

Also living an authentic Christian life means trying everyday to follow God’s way and not our own…God is for life in all of its’ stages from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death…so am I.

…because first, it’s murder on an innocent baby, (like stated above), and abortion also doesn’t make you un-pregnat. It just makes you the mother of a dead baby.

Mommy, my hair is starting to grow. It is very short and fine, but I will have a lot of it. I spend a lot of my time exercising. I can turn my head and curl my fingers and toes, and stretch my arms and legs. I am becoming quite good at it too.

You went to the doctor today. Mommy, he lied to you. He said that I’m not a baby. I am a baby Mommy, your baby. I think and feel. Mommy, what’s abortion?
**Month 6 **
I can hear that doctor again. I don’t like him. He seems cold and heartless. Something is intruding my home. The doctor called it a needle. Mommy, what is it? It burns! Please make him stop! I can’t get away from it! Mommy!! HELP me!!

Mommy, I am okay. I am in Jesus’ arms. He is holding me. He told me about abortion. Why didn’t you want me, Mommy?

One more heart that was stopped. Two more eyes that will never see. Two more hands that will never touch. Two more legs that will never run. One more mouth that will never speak.

I would suggest looking around on the Priest For Life website and watch some of the videos and look at some of the pictures and really think about what a BABY is. I mean really look and think about what is happening to the BABY inside the mother as it is murdered.

Some of the pictures and videos are graphic and they are meant to be, and they reflect the seriousness of this horid action against the most innocent of our world.

I pray that your eyes are opened.

Abortion kills an innocent human life. That’s the principle which the Church (and common sense) rests on.

‘Pro-choicers’ who at least understand that human life begins at conception will take issue with the “innocent” part, since they will argue that an unwanted fetus is not innocent, because it violates the mother’s right to privacy/personal security, and therefore it is not murder to kill it.

Unfortunately, the law in many countries has made the issue moot since “murder” is not simply the killing of an innocent human life, but the killing of an innocent human *person, *and unborn human beings are not defined as persons under the law.

Consider the social danger posed by a juridical precedent which creates any disparity between “human being” and “person.”
 
Politically correct immoral attorneys can redefine or call anything they want the “truth”, but it is a lie!.

The Truth, Jesus Christ, is eternal and unchangeable.

The Truth cannot be redefined or be parsed by slick lawyer’s word plays.

They are attempting to redefine “human persons”, marriage, even love (=sex). Former Pres. Clinton said “that depends on what the definition of “is” is”?

We have redefined ourselves as God.

We create and destroy life, we decide what is right and wrong. It is so much easier when we make up our own false truth.

A better question would be “why in the world would anyone think it was right”?
 
I don’t know about wrong. But I believe it’s just illogical. I believe in responsibility: If you mess up, you deal with the consequences. If something terrible happens (i.e. rape), get ahead.

Only God has the right to give life, and only God has the right to end life.

Abortion is the murder of an innocent human life.

I have argued with many people on this subject. I have been told the human baby is considered an “unwanted issue” when aborted. Another person has told me that the human baby is “nothing but a byproduct of a woman’s body”.

I argue a byproduct of a woman’s body would be what exits her body in the bathroom.

Anything to devalue human life, so these people may live their life away from God as far as possible.

Abortion is murder. It’s wrong. There is nothing right about it.

Take the responsibility of caring for the child. From what I’ve seen, being a mother is rather empowering to the woman; it shows dominance, courage, and the will to overcome. It’s like a spiritual middle finger the rapist.

Allow me to expand on what people are saying. The idea that life begins at conception is not a unique Christian philosophy. Confucius in ancient China also held to the belief that a person’s age is actually nine months more than the time of the birth. That means for the history of the world, at least until this generation, all people have believed that life begins at conception. The Judaic-Christian model determined that it is wrong to kill. That is written in stone. If life begins at conception then abortion is the taking of a life, hence murder, hence wrong. After all, why this fascination with manipulating the birth traits of the fetus if it is not a life. The underlying principle, even if they choose to deny their hearts, is that it is a life. Those who are supporting abortion are just not fully aware that they are in essence going against their deepest consciences. It must be stopped. And since I have never met anyone who is antiabortion and proeuthanasia, or vice versa, it goes without saying that life is sacred from conception to natural death.
 
Also the biblical proof that there is life in the womb. The accounts of Jacob and Esau struggling during the birthing process, God’s message in Psalm 139 of the person praising God for being knit in the womb, Jeremiah (I think) reference “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” , and John the Baptist leaping for joy in the womb at the Visitation. Just to name a few.

There are two data points which make me pro-life.
  1. At conception, at that moment, an entirely new, unique, fully human being exists that did not exist before.
  2. Every single human being is entitled to basic human rights, the first of which is the right to life. Every single one. Even the ones that are unwanted have a right to be here.
Why do you ask? What’s on your mind?
