Why is that a problem? Jews have generally white or light-coloured skin too, as do Arabs.

Yes, I know of the occasional “Jesus was black” bandwagon or “Jesus was olive-skinned” when there’s really no reason to believe Jesus looked any different from what a young Arab man might look today. He may have looked like an olive-skinned Bedouin, or he could have looked like, …oh I don’t know… Adam Sandler.

Probably a bad example, but from your pic, Adam Sandler, who is ethnically Jewish, has skin one could easily call white.

That’s why I loathe the “Jesus wasn’t white” bandwagon because since Jesus was Jewish, that he was white is very possible.
 
I guess it was not because the first artist had extra brown paint that he wanted to use.

According to a priest/professor I had in college, Paul tailored his talks to the communities he was preaching to, so the details he would have used for the Corinthians would have been subtly different from the details he would have used with the Ephesians. IOW, what would have been dishonorable to Corinthians (long hair) might have been normal to a different community and may in fact be details that are not relevant to the message he is really trying to teach.

I’m surprised nobody else has caught this. You’re thinking of NazarITES. A NazarENE was anybody, regardless of hair style, from the town of Nazareth.

That was old testament. 1 Corinthians is new testament. Paul wouldn’t say it’s a disgrace for men to have long hair if Jesus had long hair. I’m standing by what I said already .

That sounds about right. I believe in the information I read was trying to prove Jesus was a Nazarite. Thanks for the correction.

i just was mentioning that Jesus ,had long because of the same.i didn’t contradict your statement,in the new testement it is not binding for Christians

Matthew 2:23 There he made his home in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He will be called a Nazorean.”
 
You can clearly see in the Shroud of Turin that Christ had long hair.
Also that’s just how peoples hair was in those days.
 
I don’t think Nazarites drank wine, and Jesus did…

Context matters. If women wore their hair waist length then a man with shoulder length hair would likely not be seen as ‘long-haired’.
Even if women’s hair was only halfway to the waist men might still see shoulder-length as short enough.
