Just a clarification, there is not 23 rites, but 23 sui iuris particular churches in communion with the bishop of Rome. There is only 6 or 7 rites. There are some churches that share the same liturgical rite but are different particular churches. For example the Melkites and the Ukrainians, are both of the Byzantine rite, but different particular churches.Why do Protestants always refer the Catholic Church as Roman Catholic Church? When in fact that the Catholic Church itself consist of 23 Rites, 22 Eastern Rites and 1 Latin Rite?
