No, you should stick around. There is really a lot to learn here, about faith traditions everywhere and your (name removed by moderator)ut can add to that. Sorry your experience started out this way but give it another chance. If someone gets too out of hand the moderators are pretty darn good about taking care of it. I think you will find many charitable posters that are glad to see you here.Nice post, thanks. Itās just that it seems no one, protestant or Catholic, can make a statement without it being construed as confrontation by someone else. Iāve simply had enough, this is the exact reason I stopped attending any church of any kind. It would appear my ājourney wellā has ended right back where I started. But, I should have known better than to go to an internet forum seeking answers, my bad!
Sorry, I didnāt mean to be offensive but a forum in which everyone agrees is a rather boring place. I hope you stick aroundHow does that show He died? Itās empty! Most protestants see the crucifix as showing He died, which is fine, but an empty cross to many symbolizes victroy over death. This point (like so many others) could be argued until the end of time, I was simply pointing out that I admired the pastorās reply, it made an excellant point. I certainly did not join this forum to argue. I bid good day to everyone.
Most of the folks on this forum have had bad experiences with Protestants attacking Catholicism, and they have been energized by the āCatholic apologeticsā movement, which teaches them to defend their Faith. Unfortunately, to a person with a hammer everything looks like a nail. So folks tend to respond in knee-jerk ways to perfectly innocuous, good-faith comments or questions. If you can get behind this, you will find a lot of good, substantive discussion on the forum. But the amount of āapologetics boiler-plateā is pretty frustrating. No, my apologies for total over reaction. But, for what itās worth, I simply did not understand why my statement was taken apart by yourself. I simply stated that I respected the pastorās reply.
. . . something which could never be verified anyway.I suppose that many of them would have a fit if they came across a relic of the True Cross.
It reminds me of nothing so much as those awkward moments in Protestant pews, staring at the bit of bread or cracker and the āshot glassā of grape juice and trying desperately to Feel Things.
