Hate or fear can influence free choice, not create it The power of feelings can very much influence a persons actions.and thinking If the person is not morally strong enough to keep his feeling under control, he will do irrational acts, like killing, committing adultery, stealing, lying, fighting, drinking to excess, homo-sexual acts. These are, the effects of original sin and sin itself. These are some of the things Jesus came to redeem us from, the works of Satan. Of course if you are not gifted with the faith, to you it’s just our opinion. Calling our selves Catholic may be just our opinion. Are we really Catholic?

If someone were to choose hell, it is only by their free choice. Being a free choice ,as the catechism says, we can believe our Lord gives every one a chance before death to accept the gift of eternal life. The only reason someone would choose hell is because it could be seen objectively better than the gift of God. At the end of our lives we will stand before the innocent one. We will learn that everything sinful action we did, we did it to him. I mean this literally. When we hurt our brothers and sisters we did it to him, (he has united all men to himself). The pain of knowing we wounded perfect love is excruciating and this reality can not be grasped until it is experienced. If someone were to choose hell, it would be because it would seem objectively better then to go before the one who we have wounded.

I’d add too (and I’m not sure if I read it here, or somewhere else), is that even after people who refuse Jesus as their Savior and deny God and go to Hell, will still be cursing Him in Hell. They will not be sorry they choose this course of action and have a change of heart (and be remorseful in Hell), rather they will continue on in eternity to curse His name.

Free will, our power of choice is designed into our human nature, as is our intelligence, they are both faculties of the human soul that is spiritual in nature. We in our totality are created by God. We didn’t create ourselves, and had no choice in our creation. But our creation was for God, in God, and by God to unite His creation with Himself. This union will enable us to share His divine and eternally blissful life for eternity. You can not kill the soul, by God’s eternal creative act we will exist for ever in some state It was an act of divine love for His creation.

Those that are gifted with the Catholic Christian Faith show it in their actions, and choices. These actions and choices are centered on their faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings. They follow the commands of God to the best of their ability to love God with all their efforts, and to love their neighbor as they love themselves. they show it by the way they live. They show it in their moral lives, they live virtuously. They forgive, and are forgiven. they accept people with all their faults, and are conscious of their own. they show love and compassion for the sufferings of others. They stumble, but get up again when things get rough in life, their Hope is in God, their belief is in God, and their love is for and in God. You must understand we are fallible humans so we are not perfect, but we keep striving to do what Jesus would expect us to do in spite of ourselves.
