Why do some people consider the Bible Sexist?

So, I have run into a bunch of people(Christian and non-Christian) who consider the Bible to be very sexist. In my honest opinion, and from reading the Bible numerous times, the Bible contains no sexism of any form. For example, some people consider the Adam and Eve part to be very sexist. What do you guys think?

Again, I ask that whenever someone says anything about the Bible, Catholics should say: “Why do you believe this or what is your evidence?”

Sexist - a word I hate - is the invention of radical feminists who want to tear down a world where they believe all women are oppressed by men. In the 1970s, it was made very clear – major corporations were run by men, the Catholic Church was run by men. They called this the Patriarchy and it had it to be taken over.

Recently, I read a published statement from the head of a women’s business organization in Michigan that she was disappointed that most businesses were not run by women after all these years.

Sexist is connected to the “let’s change the Bible” idea where men should not be the only sex mentioned. We should throw out “mankind” or words that refer to God as male. We must replace the original words so that they do not refer to the male gender. This is a recent invention that is based on a false premise. We cannot change a single word in the Bible.

It is based on the lie that God and the Church does not hold women in high esteem.

It would have been nicer to have your guests abused? Hospitality was very, very important in those cultures.

I always laugh at people who try to project their 21st century morals on societies from 3000 years ago.

Why would you laugh at someone objecting to this horrific story? There are plenty of stories in the OT that need an explanation. Although, I’m not sure that this story is factual It would of been nicer if Lot offered himself to be abused and/or prayed for God’s intervention. Lot put himself and his male guests before his own virgin(probably pretty young) daughters-sick. He did not know that they were angels at the time. Chivalry at its finest. Lot should of offered no one. God did not condone this. Why would you defend this?

The bible contains sexism, murder, rape, sodomy, adultery, greed, blasphemy etc. This doesn’t mean that God condoned it. The bible has lots of different stories that illustrate men’s sinful nature and need for a just God.
