Unfortunately, I fall into the category of having used artificial means of bc in the beginning of my marriage.
The reasons were basically fear of having a child, and the fear that NFP would not work. This was compounded by an OBGYN who told me “The rhythm method does not work…here are some pills.”
I learned NFP on my own (billings method) and am astonished to realize that what I thought was “safe sex” could have resulted in a pregnancy due to “improper” condom use. Also I have been diagnosed with a heart defect that I have had since birth. If I had continued taking the pill I could have had a disastrous side effect. Not to mention the side effects of weight gain, moodiness etc.
