Well they think that Hell is a place where all the Popes and saints go after death.

Sounds like heaven to me:D

Put it this way Heaven for a cat is a place overrun by mice - an eternal mouse hunting ground.

Hell for a mouse is - where cats hunt eternally!😛
😃 All of the mice I want to hunt? Yummy!!!:onpatrol::angel1:

Some people just need to think and belive that there are sinners worse then they are.:)😛

Really the only thing all Protestant sects have in common is anti-Catholicism!! It’s the only thing they all agree on.
Uh… no. Modern Lutherans don’t hate Catholics or Catholicism. Some of us even appreciate the grounded teaching that the Catholic church continues to give all people in Christ. On a personal level, I sincerely appreciate the consistent pro-life message the Catholic church has given.

Here’s how much we appreciate Catholics :

There are Catholic children in our church’s Lutheran vacation bible school at this very moment - and we are scrupulous in helping them grow in their Catholic faith, and count ourselves privileged that their Catholic parents would entrust their children to us in this manor.

👍 When my aunt (my mother’s older sister) was a little girl (5 or 6) she learned all of her prayers in German from a Lutheran neigher. 🙂

From my own perspective, my wife and I sent our children to the local parochial school because we wanted them to receive a Christian education. This was a number of years ago, when I was just overcoming some anti-Catholicism imparted by the pastor who confirmed me. This was a number of years before I was ordained (25 or 30) but I would do so again.

My son also went to a parochial school, albeit for only a semester. And my daughter almost went to Belmont Abbey College. They offered her a great scholarship, just not the major she wanted.

If a Protestant claims Catholics are going to hell, what exactly is their reasoning? What scripture are they relying on?

To put the question another way, what is required to be saved, that Catholics do not do/have?
The problem with Protestantism is that there are many different teachings on doctrinal matters, depending on what protestant denomination one listens to. This is because every single protestant denomination was founded by different individuals. So yes, if you listen to some “communions” of believers, we Catholics are all going to hell. But these teachings are not founded on Christ; rather they are founded upon self-appointed freelance Bible interpreters, who take it upon themselves to teach in the name of Jesus Christ, appointing themselves pastors of souls, who happen to put their faith and trust these self-appointed teachers and their man-made doctrines.

The big question is, can these self-appointed teachers be saved, being that they mislead millions down the wrong path. Obviously, many of them believe they are teaching the truth; so only God knows their culpability. The big tragedy is that many people believe the Catholic Church is a demonic institution and that the pope is the anti-Christ. Consequently these people have been misled and are being deprived of the treasures of grace available to souls through the valid Sacraments of the Catholic Church.

People seem to forget that the Church is at war against a spiritual enemy who Scripture describes as the father of lies and half truths, who uses men as instruments of confusion and division; ultimately leading people astray from the truth.

To answer the question contained in the title of the post, very simply it’s because those who make that claim understand neither Catholicism nor hell.

That is very well said.🙂

To the OP’s question, I think that many non-Catholic Christians are very firmly wedded to Decision Theology, which is quite different from Catholic beliefs, in that it requires a personal decision to follow Christ after one becomes mature enough to make such a commitment. The result is total confusion as to how Catholics (& rather a largish number of us Protestants) can possibley be Christian through the sacraments of the church. Which is ridiculous, based on the historic Christian faith…🤷
And then, of course, there are the :rolleyes:crazies (online & IRL) who delight in telling their followers that everybody is going to hell…except of course, them.

Scousers are people from Liverpool, manky-monkeys are people from Manchester and in the north people don’t say the, they just skip It and Sheffield is on the other side of the Pennines.

Wow, i can see somebodies done their homework(!) And anyway, ive never heard a protestant condem a Roman Catholic to hell before, although i have heard it the other way round…
Then you’re not exposed to very much in the way of the outside world, are you?

And in Sheffield everyone calls you “love” - even strangers.

(Or they used to back in the previous century - it’s probably all “wassup dog” now)

Ha lol 🙂 nope its still love up here, love

Here you go:doh2: At least it’s the one I use. 😃

As an ex-Protestant I was told that there were very few Catholics in heaven b/c they didn’t accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. I never did buy that one myself.
