simply because a person or group of persons want to be right…

think on this…State Farm,…Allstate…Nationwide…Farmers Group…Progressive…Geico…

each one has their own policy that you must buy into…but all are insurance companies…you choose the one that fits you best…

Nationwide will not insure your home if you a dog…on their “bad dog” list…i.e Rotweiler…Doberman…PitBull…

however…State Farm and some of the others do not…

Baptists think drinking and dancing are a sin…Catholics do not…yet we are Christians…mainline Protestant religions do not view birth control as a sin…Catholics do…it’s a policy of sorts…

In our humaness we disagree…even though we have married ourselves to one religion or the other…it is not so much God telling us that we are sinners…it is us…some people get a buzz off telling others how much knowledge they have of what their church teaches…and feel free to smack you over the head with it…I pay no mind to those folks…as I am more a “spirit of the law” type person…

great idealist thinking on your part…but we can’t even get together to decide how find a renewable source of energy 🤷

ahhhh the human condition…

Hi all
I don’t understand the consept of a false christian. If you believe in the lord Jesus Christ and are baptised and repent of your sins…well you are Christian, and you belong to Christ.
You aren’t baptist…pentecostal…methodist…
etc…etc…you are christian. A baptist dose not love a different Jesus Christ then a pentecostal.

Its human to break up into groups.
We have national groups, social class groups, christian groups…it just never stops.

The truth is that we are one big human family,no national group is anymore human then the other.

The same is true for christians.

I don’t like it.
Because man benefits from segregation, have you seen some of those preachers cars?!?!?!

every last one of us have the bible in common.Loving one another, not lying steeling etc…etc… we all have that in common.
every christian will have to leave there denomination and join Gods one family in heaven anyway, may as well start getting along now.
excaliber,
I think the problem comes to a debate when someone thinks their ‘Church’ saves and not Jesus Christ. Chuches do not save anyone.
We have different views on how we interpret scripture thats the rub 🙂
This will always be a problem. For example, I’m a Bible believing Christian. I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2Tim.3:16)
Dogma? it means ,SOMETHING that seems right. This leaves Dogma open to various meanings, don’t you think ?

Question: Why do true Christians view each other as in separate churches?

Answer: They don’t.

There is One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church which contains the fullness of faith. It is sad that there are Christians separate from the Church in other denominations which do not contain the fullness of faith. It is not God’s will that this is the case - see John 15.

julianna,
Drinking in moderation is not a sin, drunkeness is. Being a drunkard is a sin. Jesus turned the water into wine at Cana. His very first miracle. 🙂
Dancing? It depends what the couples are up to in the dance. 😉
I like dancing, the problem is men usually aren’t good at dancing. Of course, I’m referring to the way folks danced forty years ago. I don’t know what they do today. It looks like they just wiggle around:confused: . That’s not dancing. What do you think?

You could say we have a Catholic Christian family, yeah?

Am I mistaken or doesn’t your profile show you as Jehovah witness? I didn’t know Jehovah witnesses were trying to unite with any other belief.

Isn’t it also true that Jehovah witnesses do not believe in the true divinity of Christ, that is He is the Son of God, therefore He is God? Christians believe in the triune God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Do Jehovah witnesses accept the Trinity?

May the peace of the Lord be with you,

YIKES!!!
I want it to say catechumin!!!

I don’t represent watchtower!!!
Watchtower is balognia!!!
BOOOO for watchtower!!!

ok Im done venting…but you talking to me like I was JW gave me that ick feeling.

There are jw’s that are hardcore christian…true they emphasize the father more then the son…but it is NOT on intentionally done…there view of what a God is…is different then the Catholic view.

But I asure you, while watchtower is toilet scum…the people that follow them are as well meaning and nice as people can be(most of them are) lots of jw eat sleep and breath the bible…and knock on your door to try and help people…that’s way more then many groups will do.

I agree with you up to the dogma part…don’t know what you mean there.

Yea Jesus Christ saves us!!!
I think he uses the magisterium for teaching…but without a doubt he is working in ALL TRUE CHRISTIANS, even those with less knowledge then others.

Was music invented then?

We don’t wiggle, we boogy 😉

Right…so how can any human become christian, if one dose not have full knowledge of God.

Or is knowledge, not more important then a human using there free will to serve God…and most of the time they will serve him in the sect they were raised in.
One has to make a distinction between being able to discern truth and having exhaustive truth. We cannot have “full knowledge of God” while living in our Earth suits. We don’t have the equipment necessary.

I personally believe that serving God with all one’s heart in a tangible way by helping others can help to compensate for some funky hermeneutics.

You have to look at the Scriptures, Christ founded one Church, The Protestant Revolt was a major break from the Church which started a domino effect, Why did Martin Luther Break away from the Church? Because he did not agree with some of the Teachings. There are so many dominations now due to the selfish interest of man. Those who have broke away from the Catholic (Greek for Universal) Church are in denial of the fact. For one those who break away from Rome contravene what our Lord has ensured us about his Church, that She will never fall.

“Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock ** I will build my church**, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. Matthew 16: 15-19 DRB]

We Must also remember that Christ gave HIS authority to the Apostles:
Code:
“And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.” *Matthew* 28: 18-20 DRB]
Our Lord founded One Church and ONE CHURCH ALONE;
Code:
And other sheep I have, that are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. *John 10:16*], He appointed ONE VICAR (OF CHRIST) of His Church; AND I WILL SET UP ONE SHEPHERD OVER THEM, and he shall feed them, even my servant David: he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. *Ezechiel 34:23*] refer also to [Matth. 16:15-19]
He made Simon Peter Our first Pope and the first Vicar of Christ: When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs. He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep. *John 21:15-17*]
We must remember that Our Lord said, “I am the Truth”John 14, 6]. What is truth? Truth omits error, it is conformity to reality or actuality. He founded his Church and said,** “And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen”** [Matthew 18: 17]. Honestly that doesn’t sound quite like a blessing to those outside His Church. Again He told His Apostles, “he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me” [Luke 10: 16] and, “He that is not with me, is against me” Luke 11:23; Matth. 12:30]. Would you come to believe that if Our Lord is truly present in the Holy Eucharist, would He be every bit as pleased with the doctrine of those who deny that He is present there?

Saint Paul, in his Second Epistle to the Thessalonians, [2 : 8–11]

“And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the spirit of his mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, him, Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.”

Again when we look at Luke 13, 22-27 it states:

And he went through the cities and towns teaching, and making his journey to Jerusalem. And a certain man said to him: Lord, are they few that are saved? But he said to them: Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able. But when the master of the house shall be gone in, and shall shut the door, you shall begin to stand without, and knock at the door, saying: Lord, open to us. And he answering, shall say to you: I know you not, whence you are. Then you shall begin to say: **We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. And he shall say to you: I know you not, whence you are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

**Those are just a few passages out of the Bible, so in a sense you can find all your answers there. I hope that this helped answer you question though, Take Care and God Bless.

Johovahs witnesses are those in line with watchtower- if not, change your status, if I am wrong, inform me why- Catholics are obedient to the pope, if we disagreed, we’d be saying he is right in our statement, or are there millions of views, in which case, that proves the need for no more than one church- p… I would never say boo and my church together- that seems odd… amnyhow- say what you say, but realize what appears- if you don’t want to be viewed as something, don’t say you are something… ps… still reading post before mine, so not commenting yet… Pax et catholici

Would you rather have a strong christian Jehovah’s witness family living next door to you, or one of the many lukewarm mainstream christians.

If I needed food,or a tragedy happened…I would like someone next door to me that would do something about it.

There must be a reason that God sees a persons heart searching for him…and he allow’s them to be contacted by mormons.
:tsktsk: Jehovah’s Witnesses do not have valid Baptism and are not Christian.

I would like any of my neighbors (Hindu, Sikh, Methodist, Atheist, Muslim, Catholic etc.) to help in case of need.

Im not a dub…if I was, I would not even be alowed to be hear.
And I wouldn’t boo the watchtower.

Ill change it later.

Being a Christian is not defined on receiving a valid baptism. You make yourself a Christian, others cannot make you what you are not.

You don’t understand. I understand you, and no they don’t have the correct baptism formula.

try to understand what I am saying. A long time ago, everyone knew about the Catholic church…you would have to be born on mars not to know of the state religion.
Those days are over.
People like me knew only jehovah’s witnesses from the time I left my mothers womb. The catholic standard of what is and is not valid…is not even known.

If a person knew that the Trinity need to be used for a valid baptism…AND THEN did not use it…you could say that they were not christian because they chose a not valid baptism. But if they never knew the catholic standards to begin with…well HOW COULD
THEY do it correctly?

Also my personal view…which I think is correct…is that most people are not prodestants, that’s an old term that dose not apply in any case I have seen.
Many years ago people broke away in protest of the Catholic church…they die off and there children are not protesting…they may not even know of the Catholic church, they identify there denomination with the first christians many times. They are not protesting…they are separate.

:ehh:
The [following](http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02258b.htm) statement about Baptism is authentic Christian teaching:
Holy Baptism holds the first place among the sacraments, because it is the door of the spiritual life; for by it we are made members of Christ and incorporated with the Church. And since through the first man death entered into all, unless we be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, we can not enter into the kingdom of Heaven, as Truth Himself has told us. The matter of this sacrament is true and natural water; and it is indifferent whether it be cold or hot. The form is: I baptize thee in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. We do not, however, deny that the words: Let this servant of Christ be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost; or: This person is baptized by my hands in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, constitute true baptism; because since the principal cause from which baptism has its efficacy is the Holy Trinity, and the instrumental cause is the minister who confers the sacrament exteriorly, then if the act exercised by the minister be expressed, together with the invocation of the Holy Trinity, the sacrament is perfected. The minister of this sacrament is the priest, to whom it belongs to baptize, by reason of his office. In case of necessity, however, not only a priest or deacon, but even a layman or woman, nay, even a pagan or heretic can baptize, provided he observes the form used by the Church, and intends to perform what the Church performs. The effect of this sacrament is the remission of all sin, original and actual; likewise of all punishment which is due for sin. As a consequence, no satisfaction for past sins is enjoined upon those who are baptized; and if they die before they commit any sin, they attain immediately to the kingdom of heaven and the vision of God.
The [following](http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02258b.htm) statements about Baptism are not authentic Christian teaching and are heretical:

  1. *]The baptism of John (the Precursor) had the same efficacy as the baptism of Christ,
*]True and natural water is not necessary for baptism, and therefore the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ “Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost” are metaphorical.
*]The true doctrine of the sacrament of baptism is not taught by the Roman Church,
*]Baptism given by heretics in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost with the intention of performing what the Church performs, is not true baptism,
*]Baptism is free, that is, not necessary for salvation.
*]A baptized person, even if he wishes it, can not lose grace, no matter how much he sins, unless he refuses to believe.
*]Those who are baptized are obliged only to have faith, but not to observe the whole law of Christ.
*]Baptized persons are not obliged to observe all the precepts of the Church, written and traditional, unless of their own accord they wish to submit to them.
*]All vows made after baptism are void by reason of the promises made in baptism itself; because by these vows injury is done to the faith which has been professed in baptism and to the sacrament itself.
*]All sins committed after baptism are either forgiven or rendered venial by the sole remembrance and faith of the baptism that has been received.
*]Baptism although truly and properly administered, must be repeated in the case of a person who has denied the faith of Christ before infidels and has been brought again to repentance.
*]No one is to be baptized except at the age at which Christ was baptized or at the moment of death.
*]Infants, not being able to make an act of faith, are not to be reckoned among the faithful after their baptism, and therefore when they come to the age of discretion they are to be rebaptized; or it is better to omit their baptism entirely than to baptize them as believing on the sole faith of the Church, when they themselves can not make a proper act of faith.
*]Those baptized as infants are to be asked when they have grown up, whether they wish to ratify what their sponsors had promised for them at their baptism, and if they reply that they do not wish to do so, they are to be left to their own will in the matter and not to be forced by penalties to lead a Christian life, except to be deprived of the reception of the Eucharist and of the other sacraments, until they reform.

Jehovah’s Witnesses as defined by Wikipedia.
Identification of the religion as Christian, among other controversies, is debated largely owing to their disputing the Trinity, which most Christian religions regard as a fundamental doctrine. They believe God (Jehovah) is the creator, and Jesus (his son) is separate and not equal.
May the peace of the Lord be with you,
Prodigal Son1

1Holycatholic, does the Bible say that to be a Christian you must be baptized? The teachings from the RCC and the Bible are not necessarily one and the same. So if it says so in the Bible can you direct me to a chapter and verse? Thank you.

Those separated from the Church but retaining valid baptism are Christian. Those separated from the Church who do not have valid baptism are not Christian.

Protestants are still Protestants, and Protestant doctrine is still heretical.

The Church doesn’t have the ability to redefine what baptism is in order to make non-Christians into Christians.
