I was raised Catholic and love everything about the Catholic faith. I will be getting married in this next summer to a Lutheran, and we have been talking about him converting. He has many questions, which I love because he’s not going to learn if he doesn’t ask his questions, but there are a few I don’t know, didn’t know, how to answer. One of them being, Why do we call the priests Father so and so? He says that that is one of the things he doesn’t like about the Catholic faith, along with others, because he believes he only has two fathers, God and his Dad. So, why do we call priests father?
I just want to give him the right answers, and I told him a lot of his questions will get answered at RCIA classes when and if he goes to them, but I’m glad he’s always asking me questions because it shows me that he is interested, but he just wants to learn more about it first.
