In as much as all but the first week of August has been gradually siphoned off the end of summer vacation (at least in my state), I see no point in having it at all. Can we just forget about it and go straight into September? My kids are napping and I can barely hear the sound of Dr. Phil over the pathetic gasping, grinder efforts of my poor air conditioner as it strains to make my home inhabitable. Therefore, I propose a thread where we dream of fall and all the beautiful things it brings. So here are the top ten reasons I love the fall.
- Open windows.
- I look awesome in sweaters.
- Mulled wine and hot apple cider, preferably with lemon wedges and stars of anise floating in it and making the whole house smell wonderful.
- Colorful leaves
- The crockpots bubbling on Bring-Your-Favorite-Soup-Day at the school where I work!
- The smell of firepits throughout the neighborhood.
- Actually wanting to be outside again.
- Taking pictures of my kids with pumpkins.
- Kettle corn.
- Hayrides, fall festivals, chilli suppers, trunk-or-treat, bonfires, my husband and kids’ birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and all the other get togethers!
