Found the article on indulgences at catholic.org/clife/prayers/indulgc.php. and found it hard to understand.
Why do we need indulgences if we are doing everything possible in prayer, supporting the Church and in trying to live a Christ-filled life (albeit imperfectly due to our humanity)? If we sincerely carry out a daily examination of conscience and seek the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where do indulgences fit in, is it something I should be asking for, and if so, how often?
