Why do we need to suffer due to the sins of other people?

Why do we need to suffer because of the faults of others? We are the end persons who are the sufferer of the problems caused by others, why aren’t they themselves? I feel endless suffering due to other’s faults in my daily life.

When I pray the sorrowful mysteries of Rosary, Jesus is also the one who suffer due to other’s sins, but his purpose is to save our souls.

Then why do we need to suffer? Our endless suffering will save our souls? why will the suffering happen to us even if we don’t sin much?

Here’s a thing to think on. Suffering’s not a punishment. It’s a sort of reward.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying we should like to suffer any more than I’m saying we should like doing heavy lifting. But the point is that without suffering we’d be a bunch of spineless saps. I mean think about the people in this world who’ve had no suffering really. Are those people usually the most compassionate? Deepest feeling? Most sincere?

Or are they not more often vapid, shallow, and self-absorbed?

Suffering’s the price we have to pay to be empathic. To be stronger. To be wiser. It’s the only way forward in this game. It’s the only way to get to true depth and purpose. That’s why all our lives have suffering. And why our deaths usually have it too.

So suffer in hope even if you do not hope to suffer. But do not suffer alone. Share your pains. Let others help in that. Because that joins us together. That binds us in a way. And also rejoice that you will be made better for it.

In Christian Theology, suffering is the crown of glory in heaven. That is why it was more meritorious for Peter and Paul to be put in chains than to experience mystical vision.

In heaven, you will see that the order of merit is according to how much a person endured suffering on Earth. That is why Jesus is our King in heaven because he suffered the most on Earth.

Imagine this, you only endured suffering for 70 years on Earth, but you will earn a lot of crown of glory for the next trillions upon trillions of years…

**Who says they don’t? Abusers are damaged people, suffering their own kind of torment, and of course, the unrepentant will suffer greatly at the end of their earthly lives. **

We don’t need to. Our first parents made a grave mistake. Of course God doesn’t want His children to suffer. Why do you think He does?

Because sin has consequences that go.beyond the person who sinned.and sin consequences, unfortunately affect people’s future. It is very.unfortunate that people do not understand this. Our actions have consequences way beyond what we imagine. That is why the church worries about telling us not to sin, because while sin can be forgiven its consequences remain there.

However while the sins of others do.affect us, one of the reasons.God gave us free will.was precisely to say no to the vicious circle of suffering.and sin. While other people’s sin.May affect us we have the choice to.say no to it, to step out of the vicious circle.and look.for God to free us from.suffering and try to make.things better. So while yes, other.people’s sin has an effect on us, no, we don’t have to suffer. We can make.a conscious decision to look for.God and he will.alleviate our suffering.

It is not fair that we suffer for other people’s mistakes. If it is not fair if someone beats me up, and I stay angry at him I am sinning for not loving or forgiving him quickly. I do not think most people understand suffering or forgiving all that well. Keep praying. It is beautiful to pray. I hate sounding cheesy, if God is always present than He knows.

What type of suffering?

You can examine your life over the last 5 years and see how suffering has brought you to the spiritual place you are in now. Is it the same type of suffering? How did this change you and what lessons have you learned? How whould your life compare if you did not have suffering of this sort? Would you still have the same relationship with God?

If the suffering is so intense though, and you are being forced by others to be in the position a victim–this is different-- You should get help from a priest. A priest will know what true redemptive suffering is in regard to your situation, and help you discern unhealthy suffering.

I believe St. Paul said we are one body in Christ. He mentions … can one part say to the another part I don’t need you? Aren’t all the parts necessary for the body to be functional? And when one part is hurt don’t all the parts hurt in some way? And isn’t it true that when one part is hurting all the parts hurt in some way, and that other parts come to the aid of the part that is hurting?

He explains that to us very well. So suffering is shared by the entire body of the one part and we also come to the aid of all parts that are suffering.

That is why it is good that we belong to the church, for we have a backup to help us when we need it. And when a person goes it alone without the church, his chances are much less.

And here is another consideration.

We must endure many trials before entering God’s kingdom (Acts 14:21).

It is the nature of things after original sin. We live in a very imperfect and disfunctional world. And we are going to suffer from that. But the good part is that if we accept it out of the love for God, it can not only benefit ourselves by drawing graces, but also for many others as well. Suffering if understood rightly, is a very strong form of prayer.

Well, then, really, all of us should be very angry at Adam and Eve, in a sense, they did the very thing you are saying here!

Have to wonder if they are aware of what the world has become, the suffering, etc…ALL due to their one single mistake?

That’s different. That’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about people who take it on themselves to physically hurt or psychologically mess with the vulnerable simply because life is rough and SOMEBODY is gonna pay. Our earthly suffering is collateral damage from an honest lapse in judgement by Adam and Eve
