Why do we not really love our neighbour?

My friends and I meet every day people, whom we never saw before in our clubs. Some of my friends find it difficult to address those people with a cheery HELLO, GOOD MORNING or suchlike. Others do, and it’s surprising over and over again, how those, to us strange people, cheer up. Their faces that had beed “closed” change in a second into a smile.

Of course there are dump people, who react pondering “do I have to greet this guy, do I know him, does he want something from me” and so on.
Funny is, when I, being an old man, greet (among elderly ladies of course as well) beautiful young girls with a friendly hello and nice day, nice to see you, and my friends are astonished, that a friendly answer returns. Often they’d say; HOW DID YOU MANAGE?
Here too however, are some repressed, uptight ones, who react repelling. Poor things.
This must never keep us from giving our love all the same to anyone we meet. No, that’s not obtrusive if you do it in real kindness and readiness to help if you can. The first step was, to help making this person the day a bit lighter. (It comes back).

My problem is that once I decide I don’t like someone, I tend to totally ignore them. When they catch on, they dislike me moreso with time. My bad relations get worse, because I don’t ‘politic’ with those I don’t care to associate with.

That’s not just your problem, it’s the problem of most of us, and it was my problem too, until – yes, until my son was murdered 1997.
From then on, we had a closer relationship to God and heavens, (might be, because one of us now is there).
We must keep in mind, that when we sinned, God didn’t like us at all. Would God after that ignore us totally? NO!
Let’s do as we want God to do us.

Well, here we see the “outcome” of our reaction. Hoses sais in chapter 8 vers 7:
"They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no head; it will produce no flour. Were it to yield grain, foreigners would swallow it up.”

As we know we are bound (in fact badly asked by Jesus Christ) to forgive 7 times 77 times, we will reap in the beginning astonishment, but then new friends, as soon as they find out it’s meant truly.
It MUST be true, for God knows and sees if we are true or false, and will respond equally.

Precisely. It’s bound to. Let’s remember, how this would be, if God would do alike with us. Disastrous. In this case, lets remember also the word of God in Math 25:40 - whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.

Which means;
whatever we DID NOT to one of the least of these brothers of Mine, we denied God: Forgiving, kindness, love and understanding. Sowith we can’t expect to get this from God in return - can we…**

When we consider the fact, that our next, our neighbour, the person we just speak to but never saw before, is bound to have same aim, same destination, same ambition as we, which is (if he now might believe or not – mightbe he believes many years later) Gods kingdom; we are quite sure, we will meet this person in heaven.

This ought to persuade us, to speak about God and heaven as freely as we speak about our next holidays to anyone, careless of what believe he or she, or the group is.

**I think it’s so terribly important to really love people and do good to them – at least be friendly to EVERYONE.

Why is that so:
Jesus Himself told us, that there are actually but two commandments.
First is, to love God
Second and all the same important
To love our neighbour.

If we don’t really do so and try hard to overcome ourselves in that point, we won’t get through this small door Jesus mentioned!
