instead of all to them at the same time? and in situations like this an acceptable reason could be because the Church does it like that without having another reason?

I also pray to other saints but I kind of felt that the one’s who are interceding for me are st therese and st padre pio.It helps me to focus in prayer conversation…It’s like in class or in an office, you can’t be close to everyone you have to have some few intimate friends who you can personally disclose yourself…When your speaking to a crowd of saints, it’s not much intimate as when you have a few (that is my logic:D)

Well… communion of persons really is a personal matter. 🙂

I talk to my friends in Heaven as I would my friends on earth, usually one at a time.

They are indeed persons and a relationship, I believe, should be cultivated with the particular saint you wish to intercede for you before God.

I love talking to Therese of the Child Jesus and Catherine of Siena and many others one on one, asking them for help. They are my friends.

We do have the Litany of the Saints prayer, though, and that is also a beautiful thing.

Pax Christi!

Very interesting topic. In every Mass, we pray the Confiteor, “I confess to Almighty God…” And it concludes, “I ask the Blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me…”

This is what praying to saints is all about: asking them to pray for us. We pray to all the saints at every Mass; another post mentions the litanies of the saints, and we celebrate All Saints Day every year on November 1st.

We should pray to more saints, even all of them.

St. Christina the Astonishing, pray for us!

God bless.

I have an army of saints that I’ve come to know over the years. How comforting it is when there is a death or crisis in the family, to call upon them to pray for us.

My army is:
Blessed Mother
St Joseph
St Pious X
St Philomena
St John Vianney
St Andre Bessette
St John Paul II
St John the Baptiste
St Padre Pio
St Augustine
St Don Bosco
St Dominique Savio
St Helen
St Gerard
