Why do you/ don't you cuss?

I usually don’t cuss. I use “gosh” or “darn” instead. Romans 6:13 says that we need to present our members to God; and the tongue is a member. I believe that christians should try to refrain from swearing. It’s part and parcel of a pure life that God has called us to.
 
I do when angry. It is hard to help it if you stub your toe or accidentally drop a glass on the floor and it smashes and spills liquid everywhere. Anyone would cuss at those sorts of things. I do not swear at people, even casually. I do not take the Lord’s name in vain.
 
Unfortunately I’ve been swearing since I was a young teenager. I used to use the Lord’s name in vain all the time then one day a few years ago I told myself enough is enough. I don’t say that particular phrase anymore and I find it offensive when other people do. I have let it slip when I injure myself and when I do I immediately ask for forgiveness and say an act of contrition. Then go to confession. All of the other bad words I say I am making a concerted effort to not anymore but it is not very easy since I’ve been speaking that way for quite a long time. I’m praying every night and morning for the grace of strength to not use foul language and I have seen some improvement. Please pray for me to not use curse words because I do not want to speak that way anymore.

P.S. I do sometimes use substitute words for cuss words.
 
I try very hard not to cuss or even utter angry words because to do so is a sin against the virtue of Charity. Instead I try to have empathy for the one who has wronged me, bear insults silently, and pray for my tormentors - be they other drivers, shoppers, acquaintances, whoever.
 
Never liked the term cuss. My dad always said ‘swear’.

I don’t really have a problem with it. Granted if every other word is a four letter one I get kind of tired of hearing it. But I don’t really feel bad for swearing. I only feel bad if I call someone something purely out of hate. And even then I find calling someone ‘worthless’ is more harmful to my view of them than some crass term.
