Why do you like your religion?

I love being Catholic. I feel like it is in my blood (if that makes sense). So to ask on here. Why do you like your religion? There are so many represented here on this forum.

The love and sacrifice Jesus did for me
 
The tradition, the mass, the men and women who have died for our faith. The members of my family who are now in heaven who taught me to pray, be a good man, be charitable, love God. The whole package is what I love.
 
You know, a lot of people think the Church has too many rules. But the thing about having rules is it gives you standards to aspire to. I mean, Jesus said “Be Holy, as your heavenly Father is Holy”, in fact, my translation says “perfect” in place of Holy. Either way, that’s a really high standard to live to, but this why we have this thing called “grace”. Since today is Good Friday, think about Jesus’s death. Think about how we are saved by his blood through grace.

I'm a member of the Association for research and enlightenment which is dedicated to presenting the material given through Edgar Cayce.  
I like believing in reincarnation.  I no longer have an edge over anyone else with regards to the afterlife and no one has an edge over me.  It makes so much more sense than believing all of eternity is going to be based on one short lifetime here.
I enjoy reading about the past lives of others and where they either gained or lost in a particular lifetime.
I like it that no one (including Edgar Cayce) claimed any sort of infallibility.
 
The most important and beautiful thing for me about my Faith is that it explicitly values the religious beliefs of all the peoples of the world:

“O contending peoples and kindreds of the earth! Set your faces towards unity, and let the radiance of its light shine upon you. Gather ye together, and for the sake of God resolve to root out whatever is the source of contention amongst you. Then will the effulgence of the world’s great Luminary envelop the whole earth, and its inhabitants become the citizens of one city, and the occupants of one and the same throne. Judaism reflects a beacon of light for all peoples of the world. This does not mean others who are not Jewish must convert to Judaism, but rather that through its prophets and its Law, Judaism provides for all a moral path of behavior applicable to every aspect of life.

Besides the above, I love the tenets of Judaism, the beauty, purity and simplicity of its religious practices and customs, the respect it holds for all life and Creation, including non-human animals as well as human beings, and the message of love, generosity, and caring which informs the law and spirit of its teachings.

I “like” being a Catholic because I KNOW it is the one true Faith & Church desired and established by Jesus Himself. And I KNOW that only the CC can [has the ability to] teach the FULLNESS of the Faith of Jesus our Lord:D AMEN!

I love Jesus for simply Who He is and what He has done, not for me alone but for the whole world and all of creation. I love the light He brings in ordering our lives as our Shepherd who guides with grace and mercy. He teaches us how to be to our fellow men and how to be to all things around us. He has made us in right relationship it God the Father, Who is now truly our Father through adoption.

His life, death and resurrection, the spilling of His blood, frees those who trust in Him from sin and its power. He orders both this life and the life to come. I also love the rich history of the faith and studying the Jewish roots and His fulfillment of what has been promised since the beginning through all the scriptures and prophets.

For me, being a practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I feel that what Christ taught to the woman at the well is what I have.

John 4:13, 14 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

I feel like I have that spring of water in my life.
 
i love Jesus so i naturally love what He did, including founding the Roman Catholic Church.

i do not buy the idea that Jesus founded a Church that would disappear or become unrecognizable before the end of this world.

i also do not buy the idea that the institution that Jesus founded needs to be or even could be improved by us humans.

the Roman Catholic Church improves me and Jesus founded it so that it could and would improve His faithful followers.
 
First of all, I don’t have a “religion” as such, I am a Baptized born again Christian.

I love Our Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul.
here is a very small bit, there are many more, of course, but these are very basic beliefs…

I believe The Bible to be the final authority.

I believe in The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe in The virgin Birth of Jesus.

I believe Jesus died for our sin and it was finished on Calvary.

I believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

I believe He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in baptism by immersion, by adult believers only.

(I know the last one is not believed by Catholics, but I am being honest and these are my beliefs)
 
i’ve had undeniable experiences in my life that drive me to a level above certainty, to know God works directly through this Church.

I don’t think I could say I always like it, right now I would like a big meaty feast, but patience is necessary and good.

Ah 3pm, on the knees!
 
It is Gods Gift. Faith is such a bounty we can never five enough thanks for.

I like it that God can be seen in all things and that God has given us guidance at all times and will never leave humanity without guidance.

Also that All the world’s ills have a remedy given already.

Loved the Lord way before I loved the Catholic church.

And it’s that love for the Lord that has led me to His Holy church.

I love the Catholic faith because it was started not by men, but by our Lord, Himself.

I love the Catholic faith because we are unified. Same scripture read at our Mass today is read all over the world.

So many positives, but those are the major ones.

Back when I lived alone I attended synagogue for a while. I liked that after service we all sat down to share a meal together.

I struggle with certain aspects of the Catholic faith. No meat on Fridays during Lent is a major kick in the shins. Especially today because I could really go for some beef tacos right now.

Confession is also difficult because I do things I’m not proud of, and I’m even less proud of having to talk about it with my confessor.

Sunday obligation is sometimes a piece of cake. But sometimes I’m exhausted and could just use a breather rather than go to Mass on Sunday.

This is all a long way of saying that I’m not Catholic because I “like” it. I am Catholic because I pride myself on accepting the truth, no matter how uncomfortable, unexpected, unwanted or unwelcome it might be. I conform to truth.

Everything the Catholic Church teaches is true. The more I accept that, the more easily I can tolerate no meat on Lent Fridays, going to confession or attending Sunday Mass when I might have wanted to sleep late.

The Catholic Church is telling me the truth. I know that. And knowledge is bliss.
