Well, I think your loyalty is too fragile. One of these days you’re going to encounter reality, as many of your fellow Catholics have already done.

You may have misunderstood what I meant by “structures.” I meant the mechanisms by which the Church works from day to day. I was not making a criticism of basic structures such as apostolic succession, the essential concept of the Papacy, etc.

You may think my loyalty is too fragile. That could be true if only you think I am loyal to the Church on my own judgement. My loyalty must come from the Lord who gives me the strength and faith in Him and His Church.

Truth ~ Beauty ~ Goodness ~ Unity

The Church gives us all of those.

There is a lot that I love about the church but just to name one, I love the Catholic Church’s history (yes I know there have been some bad apples).

I am a history major and it was my study of history that was one of my major reasons for me joining the Church.

God bless

I love that it doesn’t change with every wind of fancy that blows among men, even if that very characteristic make it unpopular with some.

I love that it feels like home no matter where you are in the world or what language the Mass is being said in.

I love that there is authority and order and preservation of truth; people can’t just teach whatever they feel like (at least not without being brought to account)

I love that it’s like my trusted old friends: imperfect (in the human sense) but always there when you need it most

What everyone else said! 🙂 The Rosary and other novenas and prayers are really big for me. . . well, besides everything else about Her. 👍

I have been using Novena. Though many prayers of mine might have already answered and I have not yet seen them, the most obvious one is the Novena of St. Joseph - I’ve been searching for an apartment to live for months, and I’ve been asking for the one that is closer to the Church, is near where my girlfriend lives so that we can easily support each other spiritually, and fits my needs. Well, after finish the 9th day, the next day, I’ve got the apartment that fits exactly what I was asking in my prayer. 🙂

Without going more details, the Divine Mercy chaplet is awesome. I use the prayers for anything I ask of God.

  1. Its age (even if you don’t want to concede that it’s the church Jesus founded, you have to at least admit that it’s old).
  2. The Mass - everything about it
  3. It is not afraid to be constant, unchanging in the face of crazy pressure from the secular world. Go Catholic Church!
  4. Nuns, monks, and rosaries.

I love the Church so much that I am discerning to be Her Bridegroom and to become the servant of the servants of God like all the other priests and religious.

I love the Eucharist: the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. :highprayer:
