Why do you love God? That is a basic question that all Christians should be able to answer.
Because he created me and he has given me the opportunity for eternal life.

He has given me the opportunity to live and to love.

Because he first loved us.
Thanks for sharing! I see that you are an LDS Christian. IMO - I don’t think Mormons know and worship the same God as all of Christendom. Are you a professor at BYU?

Are we here to share why we love God, or to put people down?

How are we to take your posts seriously when you respond to a very good answer about love for God with a comment like this???

BDawg…though we have different faiths, I agree with your answer wholeheartedly…and I wish you many blessings this Christmas season! God bless:)

No I am not a Mormon. That’s a work of the devil (IMO). I think the names of Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox cannot be found in the Bible. Is Christ divided to have so many different labels? I just try to identify with what Christians were called in the 1st century. The followers of Jesus Christ were called Christians.

Acts 11:26
and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.
Don’t feel bad BDawg, he doesn’t like any of us either…

Ashley,

Please try to not answer for others. BDawg is a Mormon who is also a professor at a University. Does the Catholic Church acknowledge baptism done through Elders of the Mormon Church? Most orthodox Christians do not believe that the Mormon God is the same God worshipped by Catholics, Protestants, Anglicans, or Orthodox Christians. By the grace of God, I try to speak the truth in love on essential issues because I love God. I also speak the truth in love for all who think they know God, but do not know the biblical Christ. If you think you know and worship the same God as Mormon Christians, I suggest that you start an thread on that subject. I love God too much to thinik the gods of the Mormons and Muslims are the same God who has revaled Himself through divine revelation. Truth matters because God is who He reveals Himself to be. Do you have no fear and reverence of who God is?

in what way you have recognized your love for God is “too much”?

Thanks!
I never said that I love God too much in context of my posting. My problem is that I love God too little.

Do you love God too much to go against the tide of religious pluralism that seems to be the trend on this site? Jesus Christ promised persecution from the world as His disciple, because the world does not know Him. Do you guys really believe that the gods of Islam and Mormonism are the same God as you love and worship?

As you said you love God too little - could this be a problem for you to see the Truth?

Intentional or unintentional, only God knows?

Because He created me, died for me, and then on top of all that established a Church where I would be able to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

God bless

While I agree that they are terribly mislead by those persons masquerading whatever-it-is in place of God, most of those deluded people are in the nearly exact same situation as non-Catholics, in regards to knowing God AS God, and not as “portrayed” by some tradition which is not fully authorized by God as the Church (Catholic) is.

So, unless you’re prepared to hear the truth about any non-Catholic’s “mask” of God, such as your own (according to your profile as “Christian”), it wouldn’t be particularly fair to claim others “God”'s aren’t actually God qua God. 🙂
