Fairly young? He was 63. Not that bad for the time period and he always had poor health. I also have no idea where you get the idea he died cursing the pope that had died. He died after committing his soul to Jesus and some comments about his teaching. This coming from people at the death bed. Also logically, Paul III died in 1549, three years after the death of Luther, and Clement VII was in 1534. So the topic of papal death would probably not be that fresh in his mind.no one is denying that…
but… God could have intervened… He could have given Luther a terminal disease before he went too far…
as it happend Luther did die fairly young… and he died right after cursing the pope, laughing because the pope had died…
Name one or two reasons you think God allowed Protestantism.
I just put it since I have no religious beliefs atm, well I do believe their is a higher power, but whether that is a Christian God, I do not know. What does Enlightened mean? Is it a religion? And since you like to fight you would make a great defence for the Lord Jesus,But the question is I guess can you fight for him? Do you know how to?
Just wondering Nancy

I am joining the Army Boxing when I am able to join up, but for now I have to train for the tournaments in March. I am in severe shape atm, cause I do not get enough actual training since all my stuff is outside except for the very basics, the wheel, dumbells, treadmill, ect, is in side, but everything else (speed bag, heavy bag, benchpress, jump rope) is all outside and its freezing.Hi, A Christain is a believer. God is a higher power,God of the Universe Father of all. He made all life and everything that comes from him is full of life. He created everything, and without him there would be nothing. He is Alpha, and Omega the first and the last, the begining and the end. Not to get off the subject but my Dad was a boxer and won the golden gloves. He also taught boxing in the Army years ago. I have pictures of him boxing and could he throw a punch:slapfight:
His real trade was a truck driver. He is now 88 years young, and is ready to meet his maker and join his heavenly family. We all should be ready for the day and hour will come when we least expect it. And if we give our lives to Christ, and believe with all our hearts that he died for us,and ask him to forgive us our sins,he is faithfull and just to forgive us of our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrightousness.Wont you give your heart to Jesus for he gave his life for yousmile Jesus loves YOU! so do I Nancy
i, NancyI have a question for Look3467, In Gen:3:22 If the garden was on earth, and God said if they take of the tree of life they will live forever,Why did he put that tree in there? and where is the tree today? Nancy
i, Nancy
That is easy. There was no tree as such for the tree is symbolic of knowledge.
A child is innocent because the child has not ingested knowledge to the point of becoming as like gods, or in other words to the age of accountability.
When a child reaches the age of accountability, it would be the same as eating the apple of the tree.
This view is in harmony with Gods works in His creation.

You are correct to a point,:Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:The tree is the Cross; its fruit is the Eucharist.![]()
Search out the words fiery serpent and you will see that God uses it with Moses, fiery serpent on a pole, Moses rod turning into a snake and the cloven tongues at Pentecost.Hi, In GEN:3:13 Eve said she ate the fruit. Something had to exist was there a serpent, who tempted her? If it was just knowledge then that would mean God created Adam and Eve with good and bad thoughts and it was their will to sin? I thought God rested from his works on the 7th day and called it good? What I feel you said is Adam and Eve were children and grew up into knowledge of good and evil at an accountable age? Thank You Nancy
Are you trying to imply that the serpent is Jesus or something??? If so, your reasoning and interpretation is absurd! But then again, that’s what happens when people interpret the Bible on their own detached from apostolic Tradition. Certainly, as Scripture says, Christ became sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Christ took upon himself the sins of the world, and the serpent that Moses raised in the wilderness on account of the people’s sins was a type of Christ that was raised up on the Cross for our sins. We know infallibly so from the ordinary universal magisterium of the Catholic Church that the serpent is Satan, the Devil, who is at war with the Lamb and his Church.Search out the words fiery serpent and you will see that God uses it with Moses, fiery serpent on a pole, Moses rod turning into a snake and the cloven tongues at Pentecost.
Does that not tell us something about the serpents identity?
Good and evil is just knowledge that defines us as gods, when we digest it. Our eyes are opened and we find ourselves less than perfect.
And only He who enabled us to know good and evil can forgive us of any sins.

as i recall that is what the serpent told adam and eve that they would become like God. so you believe that we become gods through knowledge?Search out the words fiery serpent and you will see that God uses it with Moses, fiery serpent on a pole, Moses rod turning into a snake and the cloven tongues at Pentecost.

You be the judge:Jhn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
Thats a good verse for the Mormons also.

Searching? for what. i am not searching. what are you searching? That is why I said search it out and come to your own conclusions.
We are not all at the same level of understanding, but we can help each other out in our searching.

i used to hate to hear this kind of answer, even though i never disagreed with it, to speak of. I just always thought there was a better answer to explain evil… i always just focused on the fact that man has free will andthat’s why evil exists… which is true… but anywya… while reading your post, it occurred to me that there is one particular good that comes from the kind of evils you mention: people turn to God when they are the victims of this kind of thing. I think maybe the hOlocaust victims, knowing as most of them did that they were going to die… well, they had time to repent of their sins, etc…. Why doesn’t God intervene whenever someone rapes someone, takes the life of the innocent, or when government leaders commit genocide. Why didn’t he give Hitler a terminal illness? Ultimately we know that from all evil comes a greater good even if we can’t see or understand what that good is.
