Why does Church teaching on "Legitimate Defense" not apply to the unborn?

I’m am not insisting anything. I am seeking understanding and explanation on Church teaching. Are we only allowed to call the police when we see another person being attacked? Is it wrong to attempt disarming an attacker while waiting for the police?

If you see an assault happening in front of you, it’s appropriate to call the police and even to intervene with the amount of force necessary to stop the attack.

How is it that you’re witnessing an attack on an unborn child? Are you in the room? Is it happening in the middle of a public area?

Or are you assuming that it’s happening? That’s where you’d be going off the rails.

Thank you, that is an important distinction. That makes sense. I’m sorry people are uncomfortable with the questions I’ve asked. I am not here to make an argument. I just wanted the answers to 2 question to resolve a contradiction in my mind.

“What are we allowed to do to defend another person from an attack?”
“If it differs between the born and unborn, why?”

Your answer is in the direction of my questions and explains why certain actions would be prohibited for most people. There could of course be somebody that is in the room, such as a nurse with a change of heart, but I don’t think I’m going to pursue resolving such specific scenarios, because too many people are getting upset.
