Serap, my heart broke when I read your post. You are a very strong woman.
One time I was watching Mother Angelica on EWTN, and a woman called in about her abusive mother. She told her that she felt as if though she had no mother. Mother Angelica told her “I’ll be your mother.”
Honey, we all have the perfect mother, Our Lady. When your past comes back to haunt you, cling to her. Imagine her holding you in her arms.
I’m sorry I didn’t understand something in your post, Is your mother still married to your father?
I think forgiving them is good. I’m not sure forgiveness means, “What you did was O.K.” I think in order to keep your sanity, and to keep your children safe, you could choose to not see them.
You could honor them in other ways, through prayer and asking the Lord to have them repent sincerely. And ask the Lord to forgive them
Again, I’m sorry. Take one day at a time.
