I have noticed that in many of the pro-life circles, the fact is stated that about 3,000 to 4,000 babies are aborted every day, resulting in about 1.5 million deaths a year. This number seems staggering in itself, but perhaps the most shocking thing of all is that these numbers apply only to the United States. Abortion is a global issue and occurs in every country on the planet.
So, I chose to do some caluclations, which undoubtedly will shock you.
In the entire world, about 1.7 babies are killed EVERY SECOND.
102 babies are killed EVERY MINUTE.
6,120 babies are killed EVERY HOUR.
146,880 babies are killed EVERY DAY.
1,028,160 babies are killed EVERY WEEK.
This results in about 55 million deaths by abortion EVERY YEAR.
In a single decade, half a billion people are utterly wiped off the face of the Earth before they are even born.
Isn’t it time for this to stop?
In some countries, more babies are aborted than are born. Russia is a prime example of this. In one recent year, 1.6 million babies were aborted but only 1.5 million were born. The average Russian women will have 4 abortions in her lifetime.
Isn’t it time for this to stop?
In New York City, 7 out of 10 pregnancies are aborted.
Isn’t it time for this to stop?
In China, families are permitted one child by law. If the wife becomes pregnant again, she is forced, by law, to have an abortion even if she doesn’t want to.
Isn’t it time for this to stop?
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, there were over 114,000 abortions performed at state hospitals in 2006. Again, this outnumbered births.
People complain of the world becoming overpopulated. But if we continue at this rate, we will follow the trend of Russia (as well as several European nations) and begin to have a decline in population. The world population will grow less and less, until eventually there will be but a few of our noble human race left.
So, why does God allow this to happen?
