Why does God allow Illness and Disease?

Hello TonyRey, with apologies and all due respect, i do not have time to play “7 Questions” and give an answer i’d consider satisfactory to each. You’re going to have to narrow down what you want to ask me, you can’t reasonable expect me to say so much.

Only a few of your questions seemed to bear any relation to what i have said also. I’m happy to answer questions about a specific post and the things i claimed in there but i’m sure you’d agree its a bit unreasonable to have tangential questions barked at me and expect me to answer.

Imagine this - A fawn (baby deer) is frolicking around the forest. Suddenly, there is a strike of lightning and it causes a horrible forest fire. The baby deer is horribly burnt and suffers for 3 days before death finally relieves it of its pain, why does it happen?

Can you explain how it could be arranged that such coincidences never occur?

I fail to understand how the terms “barked” and “tangential” apply, for example, to this question…

I would like to add that in the eyes of Adam and Eve, before the original sin, the snake was as clean as a baby deer…
Also, the world as we see it now will come to an end. Jesus will make all things new, and there will be no suffering.

Well I answered that there was before the fall. We lost our free ride by our disobedience, but after the resurrection we’ll have an even sweeter deal. (Those of us who make the list at least.)

Illness and disease have** physical **causes which predated the Fall and without which life wouldn’t exist.

I have never really clearly understood this. I mean sure the severe illness of a loved one can help bring out the truest of love for the person, and at times make us seek comfort in the Lord, but in other situations it can do just the opposite. One of my friends totally abandoned God after the death of his mother due to cancer. Darwin did the same after the death of his child. It seems that sometimes illness can drive people away from God rather than closer.

Perhaps the people who have abandoned God because of the serious illness or death of a loved one should take into consideration that God has given His Word to all mankind to resurrect and give eternal life through His Son to all who desire it; and to “wipe away all tears from their eyes: and death shall be no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

I also don’t understand the illness of animals. If animals had no part to play in rebellion of God, and the great plan of redemption then why must they suffer too? Their illness wouldn’t bring people closer, it wouldn’t evoke love or cause them or others to seek God.

Animals suffer because sin entered the world. Adam represented all mankind and was responsible for the stewardship of the animal world. When Adam sinned, the entire world was affected.
