This precious little boy died suffering from an infection from not getting his diaper changed for 8 days they also did not feed him for 8 days, why does God allow such terrible people to have children? I’ve literally cried for an hours after reading this he probably was crying up until he passed since his fists were clenched the report said how could they just ignore him? How could God not put into thier minds to get up and take care of him?

I can’t understand how God’s mysterious ways work? How can he let children die in such terrible ways, how could he let us kill even the unborn?

I’ve been catholic for a while now and still cant’ grasp the reason behind suffering like this.
I just needed to vent this upset me so bad sorry if it or I upset any of you in the process

This reminds me of a video on YouTube,“10 questions that every intelligent Christian must answer”

God respects our human freedom.

Even when that freedom leads to the choice to do shabby or worse things to each other.

ICXC NIKA.

Its called “Free Will” do you expect God to act like a policeman in our lives for every little thing no- we answer to Him when we die for our actions, its man’s choice to do these bad actions, man’s inhumanity to man, why are you blaming God ?

Please be assured that this child is now in the hands of the Lord and he is experiencing the Love of God in a way we cannot even imagine.

I agree with Dorothy; this little baby is now in Heaven and has no memory of the suffering he/she endured at the hands of evil people. The baby is now well taken care of and happy. Rejoice!!! :harp:

Its just a part of Faith I can’t grasp not after years and years can I understand why babies or children the completely innocent suffers I talked about in confession but I’m at a different parish and the priest didnt discuss it he just gave me 3 our fathers and a decade of the rosary as penance for blaming God

I’m sorry its just so senseless and sad this story is

Because God loves us, he gives all of us free will to act how we please. Man’s fallen nature results in many sins, including murder (this particular case). However, one of the great mysteries of God is how he is able to create good out of every evil action. It might not be clear what good could come from this, but here are a few possibilities:
    • Awareness of this problem
    • Parents may read about this and change their ways to protect their children.
    • Non-parents may send this story to parents they know who change their ways to protect their children.
    • Lawmakers may feel so saddened by this to introduce tougher laws on this type of negligence.
    • Carmakers may invent new technologies to detect kids in hot cars and prevent windows or doors from being locked.
Is an innocent child’s life worth this “good”? No way, but some good can come from it. Also, I look at the positives. This child is now surely in heaven or on the way to heaven. We can rejoice in this!

While we suffer deeply at the suffering of the innocent, there is no easy answer that makes sense to our strictly human reasoning. The suffering of the innocent especially is a great mystery and a mystery is exactly what it means and states i.e. we cannot understand. We need to trust as in the image of the Jesus of Divine Mercy of St Faustina, there is a short statement underneath “Jesus I trust You”. It is quite easy to trust when things are going well. It is when we suffer and Faith is under stress and we may endure temptations against Faith that it is strengthened by the simple statement said with Faith: “Jesus I trust You”. In the face of the sometimes shocking suffering of the innocent, as we suffer with them and do whatever we might be able to do to alleviate the suffering - while very often there is nothing we can humanly do, we can only say “Jesus I trust You” and mean it.
Our Faith tells us that God is Forever Faithful in Love and Loving Mercy- even when human events tempt us to think that He is not. This is a temptation against Faith.

“My Thoughts are not your thoughts and My ways are not your ways” Isaiah 55:8

A read of the Book of Job, which is a quite readable story, illustrates consistent Faith in the face of increasing and major suffering of a quite innocent man. drbo.org/chapter/20001.htm

It is a central Truth too to our Faith that what awaits in Heaven is something far greater than the greatest joys or sufferings on earth actuated or imaginable. " [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and death shall be no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away." Book of Revelations Ch21

My belief is that God does not intervene in the affairs of man for good or bad. When I pray, I simply thank God for his creation.

To the OP

Maybe consider this - the Son of God, His only Son, the Innocent Son, suffered a horrible death. God knew it would happen. God did not stop it.

The Greatest Innocent suffered greatly for the greatest good.

This does not make me (or you, I’m sure) feel any better about what happened to the child you write about, but I hope that it will put suffering into perspective. Suffering comes from the hands of man in his free will when he chooses not to follow the Lord.

God allows this suffering only because He is able to bring even greater good from it.

…edit…

Well said. 👍

Catholic Catechism**: scborromeo.org/ccc/p1s2c1p4.htm#324

310 But why did God not create a world so perfect that no evil could exist in it? With infinite power God could always create something better.174 But with infinite wisdom and goodness God freely willed to create a world “in a state of journeying” towards its ultimate perfection. In God’s plan this process of becoming involves the appearance of certain beings and the disappearance of others, the existence of the more perfect alongside the less perfect, both constructive and destructive forces of nature. With physical good there exists also physical evil as long as creation has not reached perfection.175

311 Angels and men, as intelligent and free creatures, have to journey toward their ultimate destinies by their free choice and preferential love. They can therefore go astray. Indeed, they have sinned. Thus has moral evil, incommensurably more harmful than physical evil, entered the world. God is in no way, directly or indirectly, the cause of moral evil.176** He permits it, however, because he respects the freedom of his creatures and, mysteriously, knows how to derive good from it: **

For almighty God. . ., because he is supremely good, would never allow any evil whatsoever to exist in his works if he were not so all-powerful and good as to cause good to emerge from evil itself.177

312 In time we can discover that God in his almighty providence can bring a good from the consequences of an evil, even a moral evil, caused by his creatures
: “It was not you”, said Joseph to his brothers, "who sent me here, but God. . . You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive."178 From the greatest moral evil ever committed - the rejection and murder of God’s only Son, caused by the sins of all men - God, by his grace that “abounded all the more”,179 brought the greatest of goods: the glorification of Christ and our redemption.** But for all that, evil never becomes a good. **

How do you know God didn’t let them think about taking care of the child?

Was it God that made them neglect the child?
Was it God that kept him in those conditions?

Children are a blessing, and these “parents” ignored and neglected that blessing.

instead of blaming GOD, why don’t we see who is really behind all this suffering, you know…satan

  1. You misread he was hooked in a carseat in a crib his parents left him in his infant seat hooked in sitting in a crib with no food or water or diaper changes for over a week that is monstrous these people were devils
I know he’s in heaven but for some reason this is deeply disturbed me the blatant neglect the suffering

How could God prevent every atrocity and tragedy without making it obvious that He exists? The purpose of life is to choose what to believe and how to live - which would be impossible if we knew for certain we are observed by our Father in heaven at every moment of the day and night. Our lives would no longer be our own.

We cannot have everything for nothing. We are either free or slaves. The little boy had to pay a terrible price for our freedom - like Jesus on the Cross - but those who do share His glory in heaven. That is why He suffered and died for us: to show us there is an answer to evil but it is not in this world.

I really don’t understand how love could exist without suffering. What is the point of love in a world where there is no suffering? Love is meaningless without suffering.

Does love need a meaning?

Isn’t love, like life or light, something true in itself?

Whereas suffering results from a being in somewhat of a broken state, or a broken relation to another?

Ye shall become as Gods, knowing good and evil. Wasn’t that the promise Satan made in the garden? Perhaps if Eve had only known, the price we would have to pay in forgoing innocence for wisdom? Our eyes have been opened, and we see the pain, and the anguish, and the injustice. We see the innocent die, and the righteous suffer. We have indeed gained the knowledge of good and evil, but it is difficult to say, whether we should rejoice in our attainment of wisdom, or mourn for our loss of innocence. In the words of Edna St. Vincent Millay, “For my omniscience paid I toll, in infinite remorse of soul.”

Life is brutal. The innocent die, the righteous suffer, and we wonder why God does nothing. But life is also beautiful. It struggles, it endures, and it overcomes. Amid the barbarity of the world, there is beauty, for there is life, and it perseveres. Mourn for it, rejoice in it, and cherish it. Its greatest beauty is born, not in spite of the struggles, but because of them. Life is inspirational, because it perseveres. We are better, for we have struggled, and God is just, for He has let us.

We are wise, we humans, but it has come at a heavy price. Never forget from whence your wisdom and compassion come, they come from the suffering of others.
