I have been Catholic all my life, and I have an incredible desire to grow in love and understanding of God. Lately, I have been plagued by some pretty terrible doubts, but I don’t want to let them get the best of me. I want to understand and see things from God’s eyes not my own. My biggest doubt at the moment is why God would create a person knowing that this person would commit such acts that would separate themselves from God for all eternity. I’m really wresting with this issue and trying to make sense of it all.
I know that God gave us a free will and that we are the ones who choose hell, not Him, and that makes perfect sense to me. I’m just trying to figure out why God would create someone that He knows would use their free will to send themselves to hell. What would be His purpose in creating such individuals?
Please provide whatever and however much information you can. I want to get over these doubts so that I can be even closer to God, but I need someone wiser to help me along.
God bless!
