Why does God give children to those who turn to In vitro fertilization?

It sounds like a cruel question but the Church teaches that it goes against how God intended for reproduction to occur. If God bestows children to those who go against His law, isn’t it somewhat contradictory. Please know I do not presume to judge God or His methods. I am just trying to understand.

Couldn’t you also ask “If God bestows life to those who go against His law, isn’t it somewhat contradictory”. In other words what your really asking here is “why does God bring people into being that are going to go against His laws?” or “why does God allow imperfect people to exist?”

That makes sense. Thank you for the logical approach. I guess I overlooked an argument that I myself have used in the past dealing with atheists. Many thanks and God Bless!

It’s not contradictory since the children are not given as a reward for going against His commandments. If anything the child will be a living reminder of when both parents went against God’s commands for their own selfish reasons. Maybe this will help the parents reform their choices and maybe the child will save countless other children (in their embryonic stage) who would have been discarded and destroyed by multiple attempts to get pregnant using IVF, if the previous attempt hadn’t worked.

In any case the parents on judgment day will have to answer for the children that were destroyed during the IVF process which resulted in their one successful pregnancy, and the husband will have to answer for the masturbation which was used to retrieve the sprem.
How many embryos should be created or transferred?
The number of embryos that should be created or transferred during any single IVF cycle is subject to debate. Some medical literature states that transferring no more than four embryos per IVF cycle will yield optimal results. Transferring more than four is believed to result in excess numbers of multiple pregnancies, increasing the possibility of additional complications.

Just think if the IVF isn’t successful, 4 children lose their life. If the IVF is successful there is a possibility 3, 2, or 1 child loses its life.

Exactly, your question is just a version of “why does God allow evil to exist?”

God knows someone fully from the very moment of conception, before the first cell divides God knows how they will turn out…he is outside of time. In that thought, if you were a parent who knew your child, had grown up with them, even though they made mistakes and yes, did some things wrong and broke your heart… would you say with love, oh… if I could go back I’d never have them. God loves them completely, no matter how they turn out… and he gives them the chance to live, out of love.

The problem with invitro is all of the fertilized eggs that are thrown out… that is where the sin lies.

… and it takes the procreative act out of the marital act and into the lab.

But yes, a countless number of embryos are dead all the time in the cases that they do not implant.

And God also bestows children to people who have sex outside of marriage, which is also against His law. So we can conclude that children aren’t bestowed based on the state of their parents’ souls.

Hmm. An odd question. Doesn’t the same “logic” justify incest and rape?

Believe it or not, at one point in its history the Byzantine Empire became obsessed with that kind of “logic.” If an assassin tried unsuccessfully to murder the Emperor, he was tortured mercilessly. If the assassin succeeded, on the other hand, they “threw him a party”!

We know that when sperm and egg meet, a soul is created by God.

Sinful human nature has figured out how to make sperm and egg meet in way other than what God designed. However, when sperm and egg meet, a soul is still created.

As the primary objection to IVF is that embryos die, God would presumably be unconcerned, since he created a biological system which has the same effect, with the deaths of most human zygotes and embryos.
