Why does God love?

That’s basically my question.

I want to know because I’m making a Youtube video about it. I plan on calling it “God and His love”.

Any quotes (CCC especially) would be great. Church fathers would also work well.

I can’t really use opinions, sorry.

Because he IS love.

CCC 1604 God who created man out of love also calls him to love the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being. For man is created in the image and likeness of God who is himself love. Since God created him man and woman, their mutual love becomes an image of the absolute and unfailing love with which God loves man. It is good, very good, in the Creator’s eyes. And this love which God blesses is intended to be fruitful and to be realized in the common work of watching over creation: “And God blessed them, and God said to them: ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it.’”

CCC 2331 “God is love and in himself he lives a mystery of personal loving communion. Creating the human race in his own image . . … God inscribed in the humanity of man and woman the vocation, and thus the capacity and responsibility, of love and communion.”
“God created man in his own image . . . male and female he created them”; He blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply”; “When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.”

God is love. Love is love is love. So how can God not love?

God always was and always was is and will be without beginning and without end and He Who Is Without Beginning Is Love…HE IS THE I AM WHO AM…He is Three Persons in the One God …and we are created in His Image, which is why we can love and know something about love and as reciprocal - given and received - etc for one.
