Why does God send us to Hell if we don't sufficiently worship Him?

No. You would offer them the comfort of your home and love. But what could you do to stop your child from exercising his free will to refuse your gifts and insist on living his own way, despite the obvious misery it brings him? God could have made us all robots without free will, and we would never think to disobey or dishonor Him, but that isn’t what He wanted for us. He wanted us to choose Him.

I guess I’ve always just swept this question by, assuming there’s no other answer than “it’s God’s nature” or because we’d end up living “immorally”.

But is there another answer as to why God doesn’t just make living what the Christian faith perceives as “morally” optional (without the consequence of Hell)?

God does not send us to hell, we do … we choose hell over heaven … we choose death over life … we choose the dark instead of the light … it’s all of our own choosing … God is life … God is the light … it’s easy to choose God.
